Twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has claimed that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s recent suspension was the result of President Donald Trump’s “fragile ego.”
The former vice president made the claims during a Saturday night speech.
Speaking at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Gala, Harris avoided mentioning Trump by name.
However, her entire speech was propped up by anti-Trump attacks.
She repeatedly referred to “the president” while accusing Trump of silencing critics.
“When a president with a fragile ego couldn’t take the joke and brought down the weight of the federal government to silence the voice of a citizen, folks spoke with their pocketbooks this week, and Jimmy Kimmel is now back on the air,” Harris told the audience.

Kimmel was briefly suspended after he mocked conservatives over the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
The ABC host deceitfully tried to convince his audience that the leftist gunman was a Trump supporter.
During a monologue, Kimmel claimed Republicans were “desperately trying” to blame Kirk’s killer on the Left, despite authorities confirming the suspect’s leftist ideology.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said at the time.
The comments sparked backlash.
Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group pulled the show from affiliates.
They called the remarks “ill-timed” and “insensitive.”
Disney then placed Kimmel on temporary suspension before reinstating him days later.
Democrats and their allies quickly blamed Trump for the move after FCC Chair Brendan Carr issued a warning directed at the show.
Harris echoed that line Saturday, portraying the incident as an example of presidential overreach.
She also used her remarks to rally Democrats ahead of the 2026 midterms, portraying Trump as an existential threat.
“You are the leaders who are up for the fight,” Harris said.
“You are leaders who have courage.
“You are leaders who speak truth, leaders who know that at a time such as this, it demands one thing for sure: we must fight fire with fire.”
The vice president’s rhetoric comes as Democrats continue to struggle with voter backlash over the administration’s handling of crime, the border, and foreign policy crises.
Polls show that these issues remain top concerns for Americans heading into the midterm season.
