Former Vice President Kamala Harris admitted in her new memoir that she quietly worked behind the scenes on a “secret project” to elevate far-left Democrats such as Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
The twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate says she was training lawmakers as part of a covert initiative called the “Stars Project.”
Harris’s book, “107 Days,” released Tuesday, recounts her failed 2024 presidential run.
Elsewhere in the book, she reveals her role in shaping the Democratic Party’s next generation of leaders.
The former VP revealed that, while serving under President Joe Biden, she held a weekly mentorship program to highlight “younger talents” within the party.
“When I became VP, I had a secret project – I called it the Stars Project – that only my senior team knew about,” Harris wrote.
“We’d brainstorm about the younger talents in the party and then, on Friday afternoons, I’d invite one or another to visit my office in the West Wing or the residence.”
The goal, she explained, was to showcase them at the Democratic National Convention.
Among those Harris listed as beneficiaries were Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), Maryland Senate candidate Angela Alsobrooks, and Crockett.
Crockett has gained notoriety for her divisive public statements.
However, she is less known for her work in Congress.
As Slay News previously reported, Crockett’s staffers recently blew the whistle and revealed that the congresswoman is “focused on being an influencer” and has little interest in her constituents or even being a lawmaker.
Crockett’s divisive public statements include comparing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to “slave patrols,” backing defund-the-police efforts, smearing President Donald Trump and his supporters as Nazis, and mocking Texas Governor Greg Abbott for using a wheelchair.
Meanwhile, Crockett appeared to embrace the revelation from Harris’s book.
On Instagram, she shared a post referencing Harris’s project and her own speaking slot at the 2024 DNC.
In that speech, Crockett described an emotional encounter with Harris, recalling that the then-vice president wiped away her tears and reassured her:
“You are exactly where God wants you.
“Your district chose you because they believe in you. And so do I.”
Crockett credited the moment with giving her “legislative legs,” later boasting that she went viral for her combative style on the House Oversight Committee.
But Crockett’s rise has been accompanied by controversy.
She recently attacked white lawmakers for honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk after his assassination, declaring:
“The most unpatriotic people that we have in this country are MAGA and this president.
“We are the real patriots.
“And it is time for us to take our flag back.”
Harris’s memoir casts Crockett and other far-left Democrats as the future of the party.
Yet, Republicans say the revelation underscores how Democrat leaders deliberately promote radical figures to the national stage.
