Karoline Leavitt ‘SHREDS the Fake News’ for Pushing Fasle Narrtives on Trump’s Russia-Ukraine Negotiations

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt torched the corporate media’s coverage of President Donald Trump’s recent negotiations with Russia, Ukraine, and European leaders.

Leavitt is accusing left-wing outlets of trying to undermine the administration’s pursuit of peace.

“From the beginning of this entire process, much of the left-wing media has been actively rooting against the President of the United States and the pursuit of peace,” Leavitt said during Tuesday’s briefing.

“One thing that has absolutely not changed is the media’s negative and downright false coverage of President Trump and his foreign policy accomplishments.”

The White House Rapid Response account posted a clip of her remarks with the caption:

“.@PressSec SHREDS the Fake News for their lies about negotiations with Russia and Ukraine.”

Leavitt specifically called out media claims that Trump was “beholden to Russia” after hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday.

“The media said President Trump was making a grave mistake by quote, ‘legitimizing Putin,’” she said.

“They were aghast that President Trump would treat another world leader like a world leader.”

Leavitt added that pundits even portrayed the summit as a “major defeat” simply because no immediate agreement was signed.

“All weekend, following those historic U.S.–Russia bilateral talks, we listened to clueless pundits on television, trying but failing to claim that the President had failed,” Leavitt said.

She argued that many in the foreign policy establishment, whose track record is “endless wars, trillions of wasted taxpayer dollars and dead Americans,” have no credibility lecturing Trump on diplomacy.

The press secretary pointed to Trump’s record of brokering peace agreements, including seven major conflicts resolved in just the past seven months, as proof that his approach works.

She reminded reporters of the Abraham Accords in Trump’s first term and highlighted the White House meetings this week with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders as “highly productive and successful.”

“Despite the media spin, these negotiations are moving the ball forward,” Leavitt said.

“The President made clear this summit was about listening, building trust, and establishing a path to peace.”

She closed the briefing by blasting the press directly:

“Americans’ trust in the media is at its lowest point in five decades, and many outlets in this room continue to try to actively undermine the president and sabotage the efforts towards peace.”
