Kim Kardashian used her platform at the Diane von Furstenberg DVF Awards in Venice, Italy, this week to criticize President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The reality TV star took aim at the president while being honored for her work on prison reform.
“In the news, you hear, ‘Oh, it’s about people who have committed these crimes and they’re trying to help out our country,’” Kardashian said.
“But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected.
“People I know. People my friends know.”
“You want to believe that there’s a powerful message in protection, but then you see that it’s not really happening like that,” she continued.
“It’s really tough, but I think that we have to do what we can to protect the people that have really supported and built our country.”
Kardashian, who previously worked with the Trump administration on prison reform initiatives, told Variety she “would love to” visit the White House again.
“I would go to any administration and any White House to fight for the rights of people I believe in,” she said.
When receiving her award, Kardashian pledged to continue her advocacy on criminal justice reform.
“My journey in criminal justice reform is ongoing, and I hope to inspire bigger conversations and create further awareness where everyone can work together on this crucial issue,” she said.
“It’s time for a real systematic change to restore hope and give these people a fair chance at life and the opportunity for redemption after incarceration.”
It comes as Trump opponents continue to push back against the president’s efforts to make American communities safer.
In addition to illegal immigration, Trump has been cracking down on violent crime in the nation’s capital, provoking outrage from the Left.
Yet, despite pushback from out-of-touch celebrities, Democrats, and their corporate media allies, the American people support Trump’s crime crackdown.
As Slay News reported, a new poll shows that the majority of citizens say they view large American cities as “unsafe” due to soft-on-crime policies.
According to the Harvard CAPS/Harris survey, 54% of registered voters said Trump’s actions in the nation’s capital are “justified and necessary.”
The findings come as the administration points to a sharp decline in crime since Trump asserted emergency powers over the city earlier this month.
The poll found 54% of respondents support Trump declaring a crime emergency in Washington, D.C.
56% said the average major American city is “unsafe.”
A slim majority of voters (51%) believe Trump’s use of the National Guard in Washington will make the capital more safe.
Independents also backed the crackdown, with 47% of that bloc approving of Trump’s moves.
On the ground, the results are dramatic.
Robberies in D.C. are down 42% and carjackings have dropped by 85% over the past two weeks, according to the DC Police Union.
The union has publicly endorsed the federal takeover.
