Kirk Bangstad, the Wisconsin owner of Minocqua Brewing Company, has openly expressed extreme hostility toward President Donald Trump, conservatives, and anyone who does not share his far-left ideology.
Bangstad, who was ordered to pay a six-figure sum for defamation in 2023 and was charged with harassment last year, has a long record of incendiary rhetoric.
The beermaker is also treasurer of a far-left federal super PAC bearing the same name as his brewing company.
Following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Bangstad wrote, “F**k Charlie Kirk.”
Weeks later, Bangstad added: “May his soul never find peace.”
He later escalated his rhetoric even further.
In a January 22 Facebook post on Minocqua Brewing Company’s official page, Bangstad wrote:
“Free beer, all day long, the day [Trump] dies.
“Show us this post when it happens in a few months and we’ll make good on that promise.”
The post came just days after Bangstad circulated a wanted poster for a federal agent, called for “regime change” in the United States, and declared that “it’s just a matter of time” before “every ICE agent will face justice.”
When asked by Fox News for clarification, Bangstad appeared to confirm that the post referred to President Donald Trump, stating that the brewery would throw a “party celebrating the impending death of a twice-impeached convicted felon.”
Bangstad previously attempted to block President Trump from appearing on Wisconsin’s 2024 presidential ballot.
In response, the U.S. Secret Service acknowledged awareness of the post, stating:
“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the social media post by the Minocqua Brewing Company.
“Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence.”
The remarks also drew condemnation from critics, including Libs of TikTok, which wrote:
“How are we supposed to share a country with these people?
“Democrats want us dead.”
Left-Wing Violence Normalized
Bangstad’s statements come amid growing evidence of tolerance for political violence on the American Left.
A survey conducted in April 2025 by the Network Contagion Research Institute and Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab found that 55 percent of respondents identifying as left of center said assassinating President Trump would be at least somewhat justified.
Separately, RMG Research reported that 28 percent of Democrats said it would have been better if President Trump had been killed during the September 2024 assassination attempt at his Florida golf course.
PAC Funds Under Scrutiny
Bangstad’s conduct has also drawn scrutiny over the finances of his federal super PAC.
Former employees told WISC-TV that some of the more than $2 million raised by the PAC may have been used to pay regular brewery staff rather than for political activity.
One former employee, speaking anonymously, said:
“At first, I was paid by a regular direct deposit, and then he said he’s going to pay me from the Super PAC and from the business.
“And I started to do some research.
“I spoke with a couple of attorneys and an accountant, and they said, that’s kind of shady, not a good idea.”
The former employee provided documentation showing checks issued from the Minocqua Brewing Super PAC with “organizing” written in the memo line, despite allegedly not performing any PAC-related work.
Bangstad acknowledged that some employees were paid using PAC funds and claimed the payments were lawful.
However, a civil lawsuit filed in early 2025 alleges fraud and misuse of donor funds, according to Wisconsin Public Radio.
