Disgraced former British ambassador to the United States Lord Peter Mandelson has been summoned to testify before the U.S. Congress regarding his relationship with convicted child predator Jeffrey Epstein.
It comes as lawmakers intensify scrutiny of powerful figures linked to the financier’s global network.
Reps. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) and Robert Garcia (D-CA) formally requested that Mandelson appear for questioning before the House Oversight Committee.
Mandelson has been called to testify as part of the committee’s ongoing investigation into Epstein and his associates.
In their letter to Mandelson, the lawmakers wrote:
“While you no longer serve as British ambassador to the United States and have stepped down from the House of Lords, it is clear that you possessed extensive social and business ties to Jeffrey Epstein and hold critical information pertaining to our investigation of Epstein’s operations.
“Given the appalling allegations regarding Epstein’s conduct, we request that you make yourself available for a transcribed interview with Committee staff regarding the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators.”
Mandelson’s Name Appears Repeatedly in Epstein Files
The request follows the release of roughly 3.5 million pages of Epstein-related documents.
In the Epstein Files, Mandelson’s name appears numerous times.
The new evidence against Mandelson raises fresh questions about the scope and nature of his connections to the convicted pedophile.
Mandelson briefly served as the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Washington from February to September last year.
However, he was fired by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Reports indicated the firing was tied to Mandelson’s relationship with Epstein.
Officials concluded that the relationship was “materially different” from what Mandelson had disclosed during government vetting.
Denials, Apology, and Growing Congressional Scrutiny
Mandelson has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, though he previously acknowledged maintaining contact with Epstein for too long and issued an apology for the association.
The congressional request signals widening U.S. interest in international figures connected to Epstein’s network.
Lawmakers previously sought testimony from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, then still holding royal status, underscoring the committee’s effort to pursue high-profile witnesses tied to the case.
Meanwhile, evidence has continued to pile up against King Charles’ brother.
As Slay News reported earlier, British police are facing mounting pressure to open a full investigation into Mountbatten-Windsor.
The calls are growing after newly surfaced records and witness accounts allege that trafficking victims were flown into the United Kingdom aboard Epstein’s notorious private jet and secretly delivered to the disgraced former prince.
According to documents in the Epstein Files, the girls were smuggled into Buckingham Palace under the codename “Mrs. Windsor.”
Flight logs tied to Epstein’s Boeing 727, often referred to as the “Lolita Express,” show the aircraft landed in Britain roughly 90 times, including visits that occurred after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for child sex offenses.
Records further suggest Stansted Airport may have functioned as a transfer hub where sex trafficking victims were moved between aircraft before being transported elsewhere.
Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown described the revelations as potentially “by far the biggest scandal of all.”
“The Stansted revelations alone require them to interview Andrew,” Brown said.
Brown added that he had been told previous investigations “did not properly check vital evidence of flights.”
Reports now allege that Epstein victims were flown into Britain and taken directly to Buckingham Palace, which was the late Queen Elizabeth II’s official primary residence at the time.
At the palace, Andrew allegedly instructed staff:
“Mrs. Windsor will arrive shortly, please let her in and show her up.”
With Congress now moving to question a former senior British diplomat, the Epstein investigation continues to reach into the upper tiers of global political and social elites.
The mounting evidence suggests further revelations may still emerge as lawmakers press for answers.
