Majority of Democrats Disapprove of Party Lawmakers in Congress, Poll Shows

In a stunning blow to the Democratic Party establishment, a new national poll reveals that even their own voters are losing faith in Democrat lawmakers.

According to the latest Quinnipiac University survey, a majority of Democrats — 53% — disapprove of how their party’s members in Congress are doing their jobs.

Only 41% still back them.

Let that sink in: More than half of Democrats are fed up with their own party’s performance in Congress.

Among the broader electorate, the numbers are even more damning.

Just 21% of all voters approve of how Democrats in Congress are handling their duties.

The number ties a historic low since Quinnipiac began asking this question in 2009.

A staggering 70% of Americans disapprove of Democrat lawmakers.

Meanwhile, congressional Republicans fare notably better with their own base.

Nearly 8 in 10 GOP voters (79%) approve of their lawmakers’ performance.

The results show a party still largely unified behind President Donald Trump and his America First agenda.

Though overall GOP approval among all voters dipped to 32%.

Nevertheless, Republicans still enjoy a wide enthusiasm gap compared to their floundering Democrat counterparts.

This collapse in support comes as Democrats flail in the political wilderness following the Republican takeover of the White House and Senate in the 2024 elections.

President Trump’s triumphant return has reignited conservative energy across the country — and it’s showing up at the ballot box and in the polls.

Despite loud demands from far-left activists to “resist” the president, congressional Democrats have failed to offer any meaningful alternative or cohesive strategy.

Many on the Left are growing increasingly frustrated with their party’s weakness, particularly in standing up to Trump’s bold, sweeping second-term policies — from border security and economic reforms to restoring law and order in American cities.

That internal turmoil is taking its toll.

The Democrats’ favorability ratings have hit rock bottom in poll after poll, and the Quinnipiac numbers only confirm the trend.

Ironically, even as Democrats unravel from within, the corporate media has been quick to pounce on President Trump’s recent dip in national approval, now at 38%, down three points from April.

But unlike the Democrats, Trump retains a rock-solid base, and his approval among Republicans remains sky-high.

The media may keep pushing narratives of “chaos” in the White House, but it’s Capitol Hill Democrats who are truly in disarray.

President Trump, meanwhile, continues to push forward with his second-term agenda despite the usual obstruction and media noise.

As Democrats spiral into infighting and finger-pointing, Republicans are staying focused — and Americans are taking notice.

With Democrat leadership crumbling under pressure and their voters turning against them, the question heading into the 2026 midterms isn’t whether Republicans will hold the majority — it’s how big their margin will be.
