Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is proudly taking credit for forcing Democrat President Joe Biden “to go off script” during his State of the Union (SOTU) address.
Greene did so in a message that she posted on X after Biden delivered his SOTU speech.
The congresswoman responded to Democrats’ complaints that Biden referred to Laken Riley’s suspected killer as “illegal.”
Democrats were angry with Biden for using the term “illegal” instead of “undocumented.”
However, Biden only used the term when he veered away from his teleprompter to address Greene’s comments about Riley.
Greene wrote:
“They are melting down because I forced Biden to go off script and he finally told the truth and admitted Laken Riley was murdered by an ILLEGAL!!!
“Yes that’s right Joe.
“ILLEGAL ALIEN!!!!”

During Biden’s State of the Union address, Greene interrupted Biden by shouting out the name “Laken Riley.”
For those unfamiliar with the name, Laken Riley is the 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student who was allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant.
The innocent young woman was brutally killed while she was jogging by herself on the university’s campus.
Many have placed a large portion of the responsibility for this murder on Biden and his open border policies.
Biden’s policies have not only allowed record numbers of illegal aliens to enter America but have also, in many cases, allowed these illegals to remain in America.
The suspect, Jose Antonio Ibarra, is a case in point.
Not only did Ibarra enter the country illegally, but he had been previously set free on prior arrests.
Fox News reports:
Before being charged with felony murder, Ibarra was once arrested in New York for endangering a child, and he was cited in Georgia for misdemeanor shoplifting in October 2023 along with his brother, Diego Ibarra.
Biden, up until the SOTU address, had refused to publicly say Laken Riley’s name.
But, Greene forced him to, almost.
After the congresswoman interrupted Biden, the president attempted to say the girl’s name.
However, Biden completely failed.
The president said:
“Lincoln — Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal.
“That’s right, but how many of the thousands of people being killed by illegals . . .”
Greene, here, continued to heckle Biden over his border policies.
But, this statement from Biden is significant for at least two reasons.
First of all, he publicly said – or at least attempted to say – Laken Riley’s name.
And, second, Biden admitted that there are such things as illegal aliens and that Ibarra is one of them.
This is a huge admission for a Democrat, as evidenced by the fact that many other Democrats subsequently rebuked Biden for saying it.
This is clearly all part of Biden’s attempt to make it look, during this election year, as though he is addressing the border crisis, which continues under his watch.
