Massive UFO Archive Mysteriously Wiped Within Hours of Trump Ordering Classified Alien File Release

A vast digital archive of declassified UFO documents was mysteriously wiped just one day after President Donald Trump ordered federal agencies to begin releasing government files related to extraterrestrial activity.

The Black Vault, one of the most well-known online repositories of declassified government records, saw hundreds of gigabytes of data suddenly disappear from its main server.

The vanished files reportedly included material related to alleged top-secret CIA projects, historical intelligence directives, and even documents tied to the JFK assassination.

Suspicious Timing

The wipeout occurred shortly after President Trump directed federal agencies, including the Department of War (DOW), to “begin the process of identifying and releasing” all government documents related to extraterrestrial life.

The timing has fueled questions among researchers and UFO investigators.

The Black Vault’s founder, longtime ufologist John Greenewald Jr., revealed the incident publicly, explaining that file permissions and ownership logs had been altered without warning before the files were deleted.

Greenewald said he “discovered that 100% of my main document server… was just gone. No files. Nothing.

“This was HUNDREDS of gigs of data in thousands of directories, and it just vanished. In addition, numerous server-side directories had permissions changed, and file ownership changed.

“It is unclear why, and I’ve never seen this in the history running web servers for The Black Vault.”

Greenewald said his hosting provider was unable to provide a clear explanation.

“The main web hosting provider for that server (I run 4) had no idea what happened, and on their side, they said it was a deletion, not corruption,” Greenewald wrote on X.

“In my honest opinion, I feel it was a very odd-timed server maintenance done by the hosting provider, that went awry.

“They didn’t catch it, and when I did, they didn’t take blame, and there was no way to fully prove what happened, and by whom.

“Could I be wrong? Yes.

“Could it have been foul play? I can’t rule it out.”

80 Years of Hidden History

The Black Vault has long been considered a cornerstone archive for UFO researchers, housing decades of government documents obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests.

Greenewald has spent roughly 30 years building the database, which includes records dating back to the 1940s and claims related to alleged recovery missions of crashed alien craft.

The sudden deletion of the archive’s main server has therefore raised concerns among those who believe critical disclosures could be imminent.

Trump’s Disclosure Push

Trump’s directive followed public comments by former President Barack Obama on a podcast.

During the interview, Obama said “aliens are real,” a statement he later clarified did not mean he had seen evidence of extraterrestrial life.

President Trump accused Obama of revealing classified information and announced plans to push agencies toward greater transparency on UFO-related material.

Backups Saved the Day

Despite the alarming wipe, Greenewald confirmed that the full archive had been backed up in multiple secure locations.

He said all 3.8 million files were preserved and that the site was restored shortly after the deletion.

“It is a stark reminder to us all, me included. Keep backups,” Greenewald wrote.

“Keep them in multiple places.

“And never be intimidated by anything that comes our way, no matter what we expect may have happened.”

For now, the mystery surrounding the deletion remains unresolved, but with President Trump pressing forward on disclosure, interest in government UFO files appears unlikely to fade anytime soon.
