Maxine Waters Tells Americans Not to Believe Video Evidence of Violent LA Riots: ‘There Was No Violence!’

As people across the country and beyond are watching violent leftists destroy Los Angeles, Democrats and their allies are continuing to insist that destructive unrest is nothing more than a “peaceful protest.”

In a moment that perfectly encapsulates how far the Left is willing to go to protect its radical agenda, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) stepped up to the microphone and delivered a stunning rebuke — not of the violent rioters tearing through Los Angeles — but of the American public for daring to trust what they see with their own eyes.

During a press conference on Capitol Hill, Waters argued that Americans should not believe the video footage spreading on social media showing the California city being burned by violent mobs.

“There was no violence!” Waters declared flatly.

“I was on the street. I know.”

According to Waters, the images plastered across social media — the fires, the chaos, the assaults on ICE agents, the smashed windows, the torched vehicles, the looted stores — are all a figment of your imagination.

Just “peaceful protest,” she claims.

This is the same political class that condemned American citizens for peacefully assembling in Washington on January 6, branding it an “insurrection.”

Yet here we have flames lighting up Los Angeles, and Waters is telling the public not to trust what they saw.

“Even those who were out of step with what we are advocating, peaceful protest, did not create any violence,” she insisted.

“Nobody was shot, nobody was killed.

“Get it in your head,” the congresswoman yelled.

So now we have a new standard for violence: unless there’s a death toll, apparently, it doesn’t count.

Assaulting federal officers? Vandalizing government vehicles? Looting small businesses already struggling under Democrat lockdowns?

That’s just a harmless disagreement, according to the Left.

And yet when a few hundred citizens gathered to demand election integrity on January 6, we were told that democracy itself was under siege.

Waters went on to scold the media, not for underreporting the destruction, but for showing it at all.

“Don’t just rely on what you’re being told or the few incidents that you saw,” she said, after referencing her own brief drive through the damage zones in Compton, Inglewood, and Paramount.

In her world, a short detour past boarded-up businesses somehow cancels out hours of footage showing Los Angeles in chaos.

And let’s not forget — this is the same Maxine Waters who once encouraged mobs to confront Trump administration officials in public.

Her track record isn’t one of de-escalation or unity.

It’s one of incitement.

Now she wants the American people to ignore the smoke rising from their own communities — all because acknowledging it might reflect poorly on her political allies.

This isn’t just dishonest. It’s dangerous.

Waters’ refusal to condemn the violence provides cover for radicals to continue their destruction with impunity.

And to the law-abiding citizens watching their neighborhoods crumble under Democrat leadership, the message couldn’t be clearer: sit down, shut up, and don’t trust your lying eyes.

Welcome to the new normal — where reality is optional, and truth is whatever Maxine Waters says it is.
