Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has made wild allegations against President Donald Trump over his administration’s ongoing military campaign targeting cartel-operated drug boats.
The Democrat congresswoman is accusing the president of acting outside the law, even as U.S. officials say the strikes are saving American lives.
Waters claimed the president is a “killer” for authorizing precision strikes on vessels suspected of transporting narcotics into the United States.
“The President of the United States is a killer,” Waters declared.
“I am outraged,” Waters continued.
“He doesn’t know whom they are or whether they are innocent or whether they’re guilty,” Waters said.
“He should follow the laws.
“The law does not allow or intend for the president of the United States to kill anyone he wants to kill.”
WATCH:
Democrat lawmakers have publicly alleged that Trump issued illegal military orders.
However, when pressed, they have been unable to identify a single unlawful directive, according to Townhall.
Trump has repeatedly framed the mission as part of a broader war against drug traffickers, noting that the narcotics trade killed hundreds of thousands of Americans last year.
“We lost last year more than 200,000 people – dead people – ruined families beyond those 200,000 and those 200,000 — that family will never be the same,” Trump said.
He added that the U.S. is targeting groups responsible for mass casualties.
“These people have killed over 200,000 people – actually killed over 200,000 people last year and those numbers are way down because [we] decided we are going to do those strikes,” he said.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth has also made clear the administration’s stance.
“We’ve only just begun striking Narco-Boats and putting Narco-Terrorists at the bottom of the ocean,” Hegseth said.
Trump echoed that uncompromising message during an exchange with reporters.
“We’re taking those sons of b*tches out,” he said.
The administration has described the maritime strikes, which have destroyed dozens of high-speed cartel vessels in recent months, as a necessary measure to stop fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other trafficked narcotics from crossing into American communities.
Waters’ remarks highlight the widening divide in Congress over how aggressively the United States should confront drug cartels operating from foreign territory, even as overdose deaths continue to devastate families nationwide.
