Bill Gates’s ultra-wealthy ex-wife has reportedly pledged to donate $1 billion to several far-left causes.
Melinda Gates vowed to make the huge donation to leftist causes and efforts to promote abortion over the next two years.
Pivotal Ventures, Melinda French Gatesโs new charity, announced the big money pledge on Tuesday
The organization revealed it will be spending the cash on efforts to combat โthe rollback of womenโs rights and headwinds to social progress in the U.S. and around the world.โ
The philanthropy group specifically earmarked $200 million for American pro-abortion organizations that are committed to โadvanc[ing] womenโs power and protect[ing] their rights, including reproductive freedom.โ
โFor too long, a lack of money has forcedโฏ organizationsโฏ fighting for womenโs rights into a defensive posture while the enemies of progress play offense,โ Gates said.
โI want to help even the match.โ
The Center for Reproductive Rights, the Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity, and the National Womenโs Law Center were among the pro-abortion organizations that Pivotal Ventures has committed to funding, according to the charityโs website.
The National Womenโs Law Centerย establishedย an โabortion access legal defense fundโ after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, according to its website.
The fund covers legal expenses for organizations and individuals accused of violating state abortion laws.
The organizationย opposesย efforts to regulate abortion drugs, arguing that theyโre safer than Tylenol, according to its website.
It has also beenย activeย in legal battles over abortion, often filing pro-abortion amicus briefs.
The Center for Reproductive Rights is also focused primarily on legal advocacy.
The organization often sues to prevent pro-life laws from taking effect, or to overturn existing laws protecting unborn babies, accordingย to Influence Watch.
The centerย claims that through a five-year plan, launched in 2021, it loosened abortion-related laws in 17 countries, covering a total of 2.3 billion people.
It doesn’t include statistics for how many babies have been lost due to their “plan,” however.
The Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity has a Marxist-based mission, meanwhile.
Aside from promoting the Marxism-rooted idea of “equity,” the group is focusing on working to โconnect protecting abortion accessโ to โother priorities of low-income women and women of colorโ like economic issues and voting rights, accordingย to its website.
In response to receiving its grant from Pivotal Ventures, the organization said in a statement:
โThe Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity (CGRE) is honored to have received a grant from Melinda French Gates to supercharge our work to advance womenโs power and protect womenโs rights in the U.S.”
Gates founded her new charitable venture in May after leaving the Gates Foundation.
She co-founded the Gates Foundation with her former husband.
As part of an exit agreement, Melinda Gates took $12.5 billion with her, Reuters reported.
Not all of Pivotal Venturesโ announced grantees focus on pro-abortion advocacy.
The New America Foundation, for instance, is a sprawling left-wing think tank that covers a number of areas ranging from radical โracial equityโ to things likeย technology or education.
Community Change, another organization Pivotal Ventures is backing, focuses on “helping people of color, immigrants, and women” to โwield power to reshape our democracy.โ
Other areas Pivotal Ventures is focusing on include getting more women elected to office, investing in minority women, and bringing more women to the tech industry, among other things, accordingย to its website.
