Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is calling for Bill Gates to be subpoenaed by Congress over the Microsoft co-founder’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
In a statement, Mace cited remarks made this week by Gates’s ex-wife, Melinda.
“Last night, I watched Melinda Gates’ interview,” Mace wrote on X.
“I immediately asked the chairman of oversight, James Comer, to subpoena Bill Gates.
“I have questions for Bill Gates about Epstein.”
Mace, a member of the House Oversight Committee, said her request followed Melinda Gates’s emotional comments during a Tuesday appearance on NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast.
During the interview, she reflected on Epstein’s victims and the collapse of her marriage.
“It’s beyond heartbreaking,” Melinda Gates said.
“I remember being those ages those girls were, I remember my daughters being those ages.
“So, for me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up, right?
“Because it brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage.”
Bill Gates appears repeatedly in the newly released Epstein files, which were made public by the Department of Justice last week.
The documents include emails and photographs that have renewed scrutiny of the Microsoft co-founder’s past association with Epstein.
Mace said the revelations warrant direct testimony from Gates before Congress.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced Tuesday that former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify later this month regarding their own ties to Epstein.
The committee previously requested testimony from Prince Andrew, though, as a British citizen, he cannot be subpoenaed by Congress.
Vice President JD Vance also weighed in, signaling openness to foreign testimony following remarks by the British government.
“I saw Keir Starmer said something about this,” Vance said in an interview with the Daily Mail.
“I’m certainly open to it.”
Melinda Gates, who divorced Bill Gates in 2021 after 27 years of marriage, has cited his relationship with Epstein as one of the factors leading to their split.
She reiterated this week that she has moved on.
“I am so happy to be away from all the muck,” she said during this week’s podcast interview.
“So whatever questions remain there of what, I don’t [and] can’t even begin to know all of it, those questions are for those people and even my ex-husband.”
When asked how the latest disclosures about her ex-husband made her feel, she responded:
“Sad. Just unbelievable sadness.
“Unbelievable sadness.”
“They need to answer those questions, not me.”
“I hope there’s some justice,” she added.

The DOJ’s document release included draft emails allegedly written by Epstein on behalf of Gates’s former adviser Boris Nikolic, which contained explosive allegations.
“TO add insult to the injury you them [sic] implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis,” the draft email states.
The files also included multiple previously unseen photographs of Epstein and Gates together in various locations.
Gates has long acknowledged that his association with Epstein was a mistake but has denied any wrongdoing.
As Slay News reported earlier, a spokesman for Gates told the Daily Mail:
“These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false.
“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.”
Mace has been among the most vocal lawmakers pushing for the full release of the Epstein files.
The congresswoman has positioned herself as a leading advocate for accountability and justice for sexual abuse victims.
