Crime numbers are falling across the country, and the drop aligns with President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
A newly released report from the Council on Criminal Justice shows that crime is now down across much of America.
However, what the report fails to openly acknowledge is the critical role Trump’s tough immigration enforcement policies have played in driving these improvements.
This is no coincidence.
Trump’s steadfast approach to upholding existing laws has proven that America doesn’t need more regulations; we just need leaders with the resolve to enforce the laws we already have.
According to the report, homicides have dropped 17% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
Gun assaults saw a 21% reduction, robberies fell by 20%, and carjackings plummeted by 24%.
Even property crimes, such as burglary and larceny, experienced double-digit declines.
These statistics are not mere numbers on a page, however.
The figures represent real, tangible improvements in communities across the nation.
The data clearly shows that President Trump’s tough stance on illegal immigration is making American streets safer.
As violent crime decreased, arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) surged dramatically.
In cities like Sacramento, ICE arrests more than doubled, while across California, arrests climbed over 500%.
Nationwide, immigration arrests have already exceeded 300,000 in 2025 alone.
This isn’t political theater; this is law enforcement doing its job, and the results speak for themselves.
The data reveals that the drop in crime is a direct result of a deterrent effect.
By empowering law enforcement, respecting their authority, and giving them the tools they need, we are seeing a sharp decrease in criminal activity.
Importantly, these improvements have occurred without the need for new laws, highlighting that simply letting law enforcement do their jobs can lead to dramatic positive change.
For conservatives, the message is clear: lawlessness, whether from violent criminals or illegal immigrants, makes our cities more dangerous.
Under Trump’s leadership, we are finally seeing the pendulum swing back toward safety and sanity.
As Trump has proven time and again, public safety cannot exist without secure borders.
The “UPLIFT Act” (H.R. 1680) has been a game changer, forcing sanctuary cities to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
It’s a crucial step in ensuring that cities don’t become havens for criminals just to further left-wing political agendas.
Sanctuary cities, often shielded by mayors seeking headlines, are no longer allowed to prioritize criminals over their own citizens.
Critics of Trump’s immigration policies have been vocal, decrying the administration’s approach as harsh.
But what’s truly harsh is allowing violent criminals, including gang members, human traffickers, and drug smugglers, to remain in the country simply for fear of being labeled “xenophobic.”
That’s not compassion, it’s cowardice.
Under Trump, we’re seeing firsthand that aggressive immigration enforcement works.
As ICE ramps up operations, violent offenders are being removed from the streets, making cities safer.
In Texas, immigration arrests have increased by 92%, and in Florida, they’ve risen by a staggering 219%.
These are dangerous criminals, many with prior convictions, who are no longer free to terrorize our communities.
Those who label this necessary enforcement as “overreach” should talk to the families in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami.
In these cities, residents no longer live in fear of nightly gunfire and chaos.
Parents are no longer worried about their children walking through open-air drug markets on their way to school.
Americans are focused on results, not “woke” Washington D.C. talking points.
The report from the Council on Criminal Justice reveals that violent crime is now lower than it was in 2019, before the pandemic and the chaos spurred by the defund-the-police movement.
While liberals spent years demonizing law enforcement, President Trump stood with the men and women who protect the American people.
Now, we’re witnessing the fruits of that support.
The Biden administration’s border crisis allowed dangerous individuals to infiltrate our cities, while blue-state sanctuary policies enabled them to roam free.
But as Trump’s policies have reversed these trends, public safety has begun to rebound.
Rodney Scott, the newly sworn-in Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, summed it up perfectly:
“The biggest reason right now that we’re seeing that massive reduction is because people are held accountable for violating the law, and they’re quickly removed from the United States.”
President Trump has delivered on his promises to protect the innocent, restore law and order, and make America safe again.
The data speaks for itself.
For the first time in a long time, Americans can feel the difference in their neighborhoods and homes.
