New York Times: Israel-Hamas Peace Deal Is Trump’s ‘Pathway to Nobel Peace Prize’

The New York Times, one of President Donald Trump’s fiercest critics, is now conceding that his latest diplomatic breakthrough may be his “pathway to the Nobel Peace Prize.”

In a piece published Wednesday after Trump announced that Israel and Hamas agreed to phase one of a peace plan, the left-wing newspaper’s White House correspondent, David E. Sanger, wrote that Trump is on the verge of the “biggest diplomatic accomplishment of his second term.”

“For Mr. Trump, success in this venture is the ultimate test of his self-described goal as a deal maker and a peacemaker — and a pathway to the Nobel Peace Prize he has so openly coveted,” Sanger admitted.

While warning that peace in the Middle East is always fragile, Sanger acknowledged that if Trump can sustain this deal, “he may have as legitimate a claim to that Nobel as the four American presidents who have won the peace prize in the past.”

Trump’s Peace Legacy Expands Beyond The Abraham Accords

Sanger noted that Trump’s previous success during his first term with the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and other Arab nations.

The Abraham Accords had been his signature diplomatic success in his first term.

But this latest breakthrough, he wrote, is “an even bigger accomplishment.”

The Times writer even credited Trump with reining in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and navigating an exceptionally difficult diplomatic landscape where many before him have failed.

“If he can stop the carnage … he will have done what many before him tried: outmaneuvered a difficult and now isolated ally,” Sanger conceded.

White House: Trump Focused On Saving Lives, Not Recognition

White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly dismissed the media’s obsession with awards.

Kelly stressed that Trump’s focus has always been on results.

“President Trump has fought tirelessly to bring all of the hostages home, and as he stated, Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of his historic peace plan, which means that all hostages will be released very soon,” Kelly said in a statement.

“While the President deserves the Nobel Peace Prize many times over, he doesn’t care about recognition — only saving lives.”

Democrats & Media Cornered by Historic Achievement

The Times’s reluctant acknowledgment underscores how significant Trump’s breakthrough is.

For years, critics mocked his foreign policy approach as reckless, yet it was Trump, not Barack Obama, Joe Biden, or John Kerry, who has brought Israel and its sworn enemies to the negotiating table and delivered results.

Even Sanger was forced to admit that Trump’s success now rivals the legacy of past presidents who won Nobel Peace Prizes.

Previous recipients include Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama.

Whether the prize committee recognizes him or not, the peace deal marks another seismic shift in Middle East diplomacy.

It also serves as yet another validation of Trump’s leadership.
