A Democrat candidate for Ohio attorney general has sparked outrage after issuing an alarming statement that many critics say amounts to an explicit threat against President Donald Trump.
As the Trump administration works to restore law and order amid escalating unrest fueled by left-wing activists, Democrat rhetoric continues to spiral into increasingly dangerous territory.
Now, a Democrat running for one of Ohio’s top law enforcement posts is openly declaring his intent to “kill” the sitting president.
A video posted to Facebook this week shows state AG candidate Elliot Forhan making the stunning declaration while discussing his campaign.
“I want to tell you what I mean when I say that I am going to kill Donald Trump,” Forhan said in the video.
The Democrat attorney general candidate then attempted to walk back the statement by reframing it as a hypothetical legal process:
“I mean I’m going to obtain a conviction rendered by a jury of his peers at a standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, based on evidence, presented at a trial, conducted in accordance with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment.”
Notably, Forhan did not identify a single crime committed by President Trump that would qualify for the death penalty under U.S. law.

“Vile” and “Disqualifying”
The remarks immediately drew condemnation from Republicans.
Keith Faber, the Republican candidate for attorney general, blasted Forhan’s comments as disqualifying.
“That kind of vile comment makes it clear that Elliot Forhan is not qualified to be attorney general,” Faber said.
“Look, it is important that [gubernatorial candidate] Amy Acton and the other Democrats on the ticket call him out for such conduct.”
Pattern of Extremism
Forhan’s remarks did not emerge in a vacuum.
Just days after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder, Forhan posted the following on Facebook:
“Violence is wrong. F**k Charlie Kirk.”
Faber pointed to that post as further evidence of Forhan’s extremism.
“Add to that his recent celebration of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and you see just what kind of individuals the Democrats are running for attorney general,” Faber said.
History of “Erratic and Abusive” Behavior
Forhan has also faced prior professional consequences.
According to reporting cited in 2023, Forhan was accused of “erratic and abusive” behavior toward a female constituent and others.
While he was never criminally charged, he was stripped of legislative privileges and committee assignments during his time in the Ohio General Assembly amid an investigation into his conduct.
Democrat Silence
As of now, prominent Democrats, including Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, have not publicly condemned Forhan’s remarks.
The Ohio primary election is scheduled for May 5.
Left’s Violent Rhetoric
A Democrat candidate for Ohio attorney general has now openly stated he intends to “kill” President Trump, later attempting to sanitize the comment with legal wordplay.
Critics warn the episode is yet another example of how violent rhetoric from the political Left is being normalized, even as attacks on conservatives and federal officials continue to escalate nationwide.
For many voters, the question is no longer whether this language is dangerous, but why Democratic Party leadership continues to tolerate it.
