Pop star Pink is under fire after mocking the funeral of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier this month.
According to screenshots circulating on social media, Pink suggested in a now-deleted Instagram post that the children’s song “Pop Goes the Weasel” should be played at Kirk’s service.
The social media post, captioned “Funeral idea #2,” read:
“At the end of the service, the organist plays pop goes the weasel over and over and overrrrr while everyone stares at the coffin in silent, horrified anticipation.”
The comments, widely seen as disrespectful toward Kirk’s grieving family and supporters, quickly ignited a firestorm across X and Instagram.
Outrage Across Social Media
Social media users accused Pink of cruelty for making light of Kirk’s death.
“[Pink] you are a sick and disgusting excuse for a human being,” one X user wrote.
“I pity your children that they have you as a parent.
“I pray no one you love is ever murdered and no one mocks them as you have Charlie Kirk. Shame on you.”
On Instagram, another user wrote:
“The Internet seen the posts you shared.
“Shame on you,” they also added.
Others demanded Pink apologize directly to Kirk’s family.
The singer has not issued a public statement addressing the matter.
However, the original post has been deleted.
Screenshots of it continue to circulate, fueling outrage.
Many people are asking me what Pink posted that is receiving such backlash.

Cultural Battle Over Kirk’s Legacy
Kirk’s assassination on September 10 sparked an outpouring of tributes from conservatives nationwide, as well as multiple actions from Congress to honor his life and condemn political violence.
The House of Representatives passed a resolution last week condemning Kirk’s assassination and honoring his legacy as a conservative leader.
All Republicans and nearly 100 Democrats supported the measure, though a bloc of progressive Democrats, including members of the “Squad,” voted against it.
The Senate followed with a resolution establishing October 14 — Kirk’s birthday — as a National Day of Remembrance, encouraging civic organizations and schools to honor his work promoting faith, liberty, and civic engagement.
Despite bipartisan recognition of Kirk’s contributions, some public figures on the left have openly celebrated or mocked his death.
The attacks are drawing sharp criticism from conservatives who say such rhetoric normalizes political violence.
Pink now finds herself at the center of that storm.
