Rosie O’Donnell Claims Minnesota School Shooter Was a ‘Republican MAGA Person’

Former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell has falsely claimed that Robert “Robin” Westman, the transgender-identifying shooter who murdered two children during Mass at a Minneapolis Catholic school, was a “Republican” and a “MAGA person.”

“What do you know?” O’Donnell said in a TikTok video.

“[The shooter] was a white guy, Republican, MAGA person.

“What do you know? White supremacist.”

While the gunman may have been a “white guy,” Westman was far from a “MAGA person” and was, in fact, quite the opposite.

Her statement is contradicted by Westman’s own writings and videos.

Hours before Wednesday’s massacre at Annunciation Catholic School, Westman posted clips to YouTube showing ammunition and multiple firearms.

Westman’s messages included one that read “Kill Donald Trump.”

Court records show Westman, who was born Robert, legally changed his name to Robin in 2019 because he “identified” as “a female” and wanted his name to “reflect that identification.”

In his manifesto, later translated by the New York Post, Westman admitted he was “tired of being trans” and regretted having “brainwashed” himself.

“I know I am not a woman, but I definitely don’t feel like a man,” he wrote.

The 23-year-old also praised the Sandy Hook massacre and fantasized about being a “scary, horrible monster standing over those powerless kids.”

On Wednesday morning, Westman fired through stained-glass windows into Annunciation Catholic Church while children attended a weekly Mass service.

Eight-year-old Fletcher Merkel and ten-year-old Harper Moyski were killed.

Seventeen others, including 14 children, were wounded before Westman turned the gun on himself at the back of the church, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed.

While investigators confirmed Westman left anti-religious messages on his firearms and writings, Democrats quickly turned the conversation to political talking points.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey dismissed prayer in the wake of the tragedy, arguing:

“Don’t say this is about ‘thoughts and prayers’ right now — these kids were literally praying.”

His remarks echoed other Democrats and media voices who criticized faith-based responses, even as Catholic leaders called the shooting a clear act of anti-Christian violence.

Despite O’Donnell’s attempt to frame the shooter as a “MAGA Republican,” Westman’s writings and weapons told a very different story.

He was an anti-Trump, anti-Christian, and openly admitted to being “brainwashed” by radical gender ideology and being disturbed by his own transgender identity.

For the families at Annunciation Catholic School, those political attacks do little to help.

Two children are dead, dozens more are wounded, and one community is left reeling from a brutal attack carried out inside their church.
