Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that President Donald Trump’s administration is revoking and denying visas for foreign nationals who celebrate the political assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Rubio, speaking in an interview with Fox News that he later shared on X, said the State Department has already begun revoking visas for foreigners involved in “negative and destructive behavior.”
“We are not in the business of inviting people to visit our country who are going to be involved in negative and destructive behavior, okay?” Rubio said.
“So, if we invite someone to visit the United States of America as a student, as a tourist, as whatever, then … the standard they should be held to is very high.”
“We should not be giving visas to people who are going to come to the United States and do things like celebrate the murder, the execution, the assassination of a political figure.
“We should not,” he added.
“And if they’re already here, we should be revoking their visa.”

The secretary of state expanded on his comments Tuesday, underscoring that the U.S. has no obligation to host foreigners who endorse violence.
“There’s no shortage of idiots around the world that’ve decided it’s a great idea to murder someone,” said Rubio.
“We don’t want people like that in our country,” he told reporters.
“By the way, it’s bad that we have people that are U.S. citizens that feel that way.
“But you’re a foreigner? Why would we want to allow into the United States someone who’s in favor of murder?
“We don’t want pro-murder people in America.”

Kirk, 31, was gunned down last week during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, where he was hosting an open debate.
His death has sparked widespread outrage and a national debate over the role of violent rhetoric in American politics.
Rubio’s State Department has adopted an aggressive posture toward foreigners engaged in anti-American activity, with recent actions targeting individuals who expressed support for terrorist groups, maintained close ties to the Chinese Communist Party, or participated in censorship campaigns against Americans.
The move reflects President Trump’s broader commitment to ensuring the United States does not extend privileges or protections to those who endorse violence against Americans, particularly against high-profile conservatives like Kirk.
