Scientists Links Disturbing Eye Condition to Covid ‘Vaccines’

A peer-reviewed medical journal has published what researchers believe to be the first documented, biopsy-proven case of orbital sarcoidosis developing shortly after a Covid mRNA “vaccine.”

Orbital sarcoidosis is an alarming condition that causes severe swelling around the eyes.

The condition can cause blindness if untreated, while treatments often include the surgical removal of the swollen tissue

The case was reported August 8, 2025, in Klinische Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde by Dr. Mehmet Serhat Mangan and colleagues from Istanbul Haydarpasa Numune Education and Research Hospital and Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa.

It details a 62-year-old man who developed sudden swelling and redness around his left eye just one week after receiving his second Pfizer mRNA injection in August 2021.

Initial tests suggested orbital inflammatory pseudotumor, but steroid treatment brought only partial relief, which is unusual for most orbital inflammatory conditions.

MRI scans revealed soft tissue inflammation extending from the eyelid into orbital fat but sparing the optic nerve and lacrimal gland.

Due to the atypical steroid response, doctors performed an orbital biopsy, which showed non-necrotizing granulomatous inflammation.

This type of inflammation is a hallmark of sarcoidosis.

Further tests confirmed systemic disease, including hilar lymphadenopathy and elevated ACE levels.

Key Findings from the Case:

• Timing: Symptom onset just one week post-vaccination

• Imaging: Localized orbital inflammation without optic nerve damage

• Biopsy: Non-necrotizing granulomas with reactive lymphocytes

• Systemic signs: Lymph node enlargement and elevated ACE levels

The researchers noted that, in this case, the patient was treated with methotrexate plus steroids led to near-complete recovery in five months.

However, orbital sarcoidosis can often require surgery.

The authors suggest that an immune-mediated inflammatory reaction was triggered by vaccine-induced spike protein expression or adjuvant-related immune activation.

They explain that the Pfizer mRNA injection played a role in precipitating the disease.

Orbital sarcoidosis is a once-rare condition that has seen case numbers spike in recent years.

The findings linking the disease to mRNA vaccination raise concerns about a potential vaccine-related immune trigger, especially in patients with no prior history of sarcoidosis.

The partial steroid resistance also sets this case apart from typical presentations.

The researchers note that other serious eye-related inflammatory conditions, including optic neuritis, uveitis, and orbital myositis, have also been reported following Covid mRNA shots.

Sarcoidosis is a chronic, multi-system inflammatory disease that can affect the lungs, lymph nodes, eyes, and other organs.

If left untreated, it can cause long-term organ damage and vision loss.

This case underscores the need for clinicians to consider sarcoidosis in patients presenting with unexplained orbital inflammation after mRNA “vaccination.”

Doctors must confirm diagnoses with a tissue biopsy when the clinical picture or treatment response is atypical.

The authors call for further research into how mRNA vaccines may trigger or accelerate autoimmune inflammatory diseases.

This area has become one of growing concern among both clinicians and vaccine safety advocates.
