Singer Dies Suddenly of Heart Attack at 39: ‘She Was Doing Great’

A beloved Brazilian singer collapsed and died of a sudden heart attack just hours after performing one of her popular shows.

39-year-old Luna Alves was full of energy when she took the stage in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, on Saturday night.

However, just hours later, she was gone.

The alarming incident has left Alves’s family and friends stunned as they note that she expressed no symptoms of ill health and was known for her energetic performances.

This latest sudden fatality marks another shocking tragedy in a growing wave of unexplained cardiac deaths striking seemingly healthy people.

Her husband, fellow musician Guilherme Schreiner, said she showed no sign of illness during the show.

“I went to bed at 1:40 a.m., and she was doing great,” he told Brazilian outlet G1.

“We started watching videos and then went to sleep.

“Around 5:10 a.m., I heard her feeling unwell in bed and got up to call emergency services.

“The doctor stayed on the line with me… but unfortunately, they pronounced her dead.”

Video from that night shows Alves singing with her husband accompanying her on guitar, smiling and interacting with the crowd.

Just before bed, she recorded a minute-long message thanking her fans, friends, and God for “the gift of life” and “the gift of my voice.”

By morning, she was gone.

Family members say Alves suffered a heart attack in her sleep, without warning, and with no known history of heart disease.

The 39-year-old mother of two worked full-time at an agricultural company while performing two to four nights a week at music venues.

She had recently told relatives she was excited to sing at the Chapada dos Guimarães Winter Festival in 2026.

Her sudden death has devastated loved ones.

In a tribute on Instagram, her eldest daughter, Maria Queiroz, wrote:

“I love you forever, Mom. My Lucinha.”

Schreiner said, “I lost a woman, I lost a partner.

“I just ask God for the strength to carry on.”

Alves’ passing is the latest in a series of sudden, fatal cardiac events striking younger adults worldwide, often without prior warning or underlying diagnosis.

Doctors and public health experts continue to debate why apparently healthy individuals are suffering deadly heart attacks, cardiac arrests, and other cardiovascular collapses at alarming rates.
