Soccer Player Collapses after Suffering Sudden Cardiac Arrest Mid-Game

A soccer player has collapsed on the field after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest mid-game during an event in Norway, according to reports.

The player, who has yet to be identified, collapsed during the Beitostølen Cup in Norway on Saturday, local media Valdres and NRK reported.

Local news outlets report that the player collapsed suddenly two minutes into the game and was airlifted to hospital.

CPR was performed and they used the hall’s defibrillator to revive the player, and two minutes later, he was breathing again.

He was immediately sent by air ambulance to Ullevål hospital.

Tournament manager Vidar Hilmen told Valdres newspaper that the player must have responded well.

“It didn’t seem like we would be able to save his life, so it was a tough blow,” Hilmen added.

According to reports, the player who collapsed suddenly was a senior player for the team Vest-Torpa.

In light of recent events, Beitostølen Cup has been postponed for the rest of this weekend.
