Study Links Bill Gates’ Fake ‘Meat’ to Depression Spike

A major new study has found that Bill Gates–backed fake “meat” products are linked to a sharp rise in depression, raising fresh concerns about the billionaire’s global campaign to replace real food with synthetic “alternatives.”

The study confirmed that hyperprocessed fake “meats” caused dangerous levels of inflammation in the brain, leading to severe neurological disorders that can trigger suicidal feelings.

As plant-based diets have gained traction, Gates and his network of globalist “green” investors have poured billions into ultraprocessed lab-grown “meat,” insect-based proteins, and genetically engineered fake “beef” and “chicken,” marketing them as sustainable solutions to “save the planet” from “climate change.”

But new research suggests these products may be doing serious harm to both mental and physical health, all while advancing Gates’s long-term agenda to centralize control over the global food system.

Using data from the UK Biobank cohort, scientists compared health markers among vegetarians who regularly ate plant-based meat alternatives (PBMAs) with those who didn’t.

The study, led by Professor Hana F. Navratilova, was conducted by a team of leading bioscientists at the University of Surrey in the UK.

Their paper was published in the scientific journal Food Frontiers.

The findings were alarming:

Those who consumed PBMAs faced a staggering 42% higher risk of depression.

They also showed elevated blood pressure and higher C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, which are key markers of inflammation.

Even though overall nutrient intake, including sodium, sugar, and fat, was similar between groups, the plant-based meat eaters displayed different immune and metabolic responses, suggesting the damage wasn’t just nutritional but biochemical.

Researchers pointed to the ultraprocessed nature of these lab-created products as a likely cause.

They noted that these “alternative food” products were filled with industrial additives, emulsifiers, and preservatives.

The Gut-Brain Connection

Experts say these findings may trace back to the gut-brain axis, the vital communication network linking gut health to mood and mental function.

Highly processed plant proteins and synthetic additives can disrupt the gut microbiome, triggering chronic inflammation and overactivation of immune pathways that influence the brain.

This low-grade inflammation, marked by high CRP, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and TNF-α, is now understood to contribute to neuroinflammation.

Neuroinflammation is a key driver of depression and anxiety.

In other words, Gates’s lab-engineered “meat” products may not just be unnatural, but they are also chemically altering mood and brain health.

Gates’s Global Food Agenda

This study adds to growing concerns about Bill Gates’s quiet monopoly over global agriculture and food production.

Through investments in companies like Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat, and multiple lab-grown meat startups, Gates has been working to replace traditional farming with synthetic food systems that rely on patented ingredients and industrial processing.

As Slay News has previously reported, Gates has bought up more than 270,000 acres of U.S. farmland, making him the nation’s largest private farmland owner.

At the same time, he has publicly called for Western nations to stop eating real beef and switch to “synthetic alternatives.”

“You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they’re going to make it taste even better over time,” Gates said in 2021 while promoting lab-grown meat for climate goals.

Critics argue the move has nothing to do with saving the planet and everything to do with controlling who produces, sells, and eats real food.

By pushing fake meat, Gates and his globalist allies in the World Economic Forum (WEF) are creating a food supply dependent on intellectual property and central regulation.

As such, they are effectively locking small farmers and consumers out of the system.

Hidden Health Costs of “Climate-Friendly” Foods

Studies have already shown that these synthetic products contain high levels of seed oils, chemical flavor enhancers, and isolated soy proteins, which can spike inflammation and disrupt hormones.

Meanwhile, real animal proteins, from pasture-raised eggs and grass-fed beef to wild-caught fish, continue to offer superior nutrient profiles that support brain health, energy, and immune function.

The Bigger Picture

This isn’t just about fake “meat,” it’s about the global transformation of food.

By controlling farmland, funding insect-protein factories, and lobbying for climate regulations that punish ranchers and farmers, Gates and his coconspirators are moving toward a post-agriculture economy where the public is dependent on corporate-engineered food.

While synthetic “meat” is marketed as an ethical or environmental choice, the growing body of evidence paints a darker reality: it’s a processed product that damages the body, weakens the mind, and serves elite control rather than public health.

The science is clear, however, and shows that real food from the Earth nourishes life.

Gates’s fake “meat” may just be the latest globalist experiment with devastating consequences.
