Surveillance Footage of Charlie Kirk Assassin Mysteriously Disappears

A stunning investigation has blown open yet another alarming chapter in the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk after it emerged that critical surveillance video showing accused shooter Tyler Robinson surrendering to authorities in Utah has mysteriously disappeared.

Salt Lake City’s KUTV 2News confirmed that all footage of Robinson walking into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has now been permanently scrubbed.

All copies of the video have either been withheld, destroyed, or “automatically deleted.”

The video apparently showed Robinson turning himself in to the police and admitting to killing Kirk just two days after the conservative activist was gunned down.

For a case of this magnitude, the explanation is raising red flags across the country.

Moment of Surrender Gone Without a Trace

Kirk was assassinated on September 10, shot with a single .30-06 round from a Mauser Model 98 bolt-action rifle while speaking at Utah Valley University.

The killing shocked the nation and immediately drew questions about political motives, security failures, and potential accomplices.

Robinson, the accused shooter, turned himself in shortly afterward.

He was escorted by his parents and a family friend who reportedly recognized the weapon from police broadcasts.

Sheriff Nate Brooksby previously stated:

“Within the hour, my friend drove Tyler and his parents to my office, where he was greeted by plainclothes detectives.”

Naturally, 2News requested the surveillance footage capturing this moment.

What they uncovered is deeply disturbing.

The outlet’s investigators said they received multiple responses from law enforcement about the missing footage:

  • First Excuse: ‘He never entered the jail area’
  • Second Excuse: ‘Video denied — ongoing investigation’
  • Third Excuse: ‘Actually, the footage was deleted after 30 days’

2News was first told that no video existed because Robinson “did not go to or enter the jail area.”

When they expanded the request to any footage of him entering the building at all, suddenly the story changed.

Officials claimed the footage no longer exists, having allegedly been erased after the department’s 30-day retention period.

Investigators became even more suspicious when officials admitted the footage was never sent to any police detectives.

The admission means Utah County’s lead investigators never saw the video, nor did anyone take steps to preserve the evidence.

Yet, this is not a shoplifting case.

This is a nationally significant political assassination, and the suspect’s surrender footage simply evaporated.

Very Concerning

Rudy Bautista, one of Utah’s most experienced criminal defense attorneys, did not mince words:

“If it has been destroyed and not preserved, it’s very concerning.”

“This letter reads, in my opinion, as trying to shut the door and not give free access to the press.”

He added that in a case like this, key evidence such as this video would be expected to be preserved immediately and shared with investigators as standard protocol.

Instead, nothing was saved, nothing was transferred, and nothing was logged.

A Gaping Hole

The moment a suspect surrenders is crucial:

  • It verifies identity
  • It shows demeanor, condition, and possible coercion
  • It confirms timing
  • It establishes a chain of custody
  • It prevents tampering allegations
  • It protects investigators from accusations of misconduct

Destroying that footage, or never logging it, leaves a gaping hole in the most explosive case in America right now.

Public Confidence Eroding

This is the assassination of one of the most influential conservative activists in the United States.

Millions already have questions:

Why was Kirk targeted?

Was the shooter acting alone?

Why were early details so tightly controlled?

Why did investigators appear to downplay political motives?

Now, with a major piece of evidence simply “gone,” those questions will only grow louder.

No Transparency. No Explanation. No Footage. No Trust.

So far, neither the Washington County Sheriff’s Office nor Utah County prosecutors have offered any further explanation for how or why this evidence vanished.

What’s becoming undeniable is this:

The more the public learns, the more this case looks like something powerful is being protected and something dangerous is being buried.

Slay News will continue following every development in the Kirk assassination case, especially as more inconsistencies and omissions come to light.
