President Donald Trump’s border czar is firing back after Minneapolis’ Democrat leadership accused federal immigration agents of “terrorizing certain groups” by enforcing the law.
Speaking on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Tom Homan dismissed the attacks and made clear that federal law enforcement won’t be deterred by political rhetoric.
“We’re going to enforce the laws of this country without apology, including in the Twin Cities,” Homan said, delivering a direct rebuke to Minneapolis officials who have accused federal agencies of overreach.
Minnesota’s Visa System Under Federal Scrutiny
The exchange comes as the Trump administration exposes sweeping fraud inside Minnesota’s legal and immigration systems.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy raised alarms Monday after a federal audit revealed that one-third of Minnesota’s trucking licenses, non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses, were issued illegally.
Duffy called the finding “foreigners taking advantage of Minnesota services.”
The state now has 30 days to revoke the fraudulent licenses or lose as much as $30.4 million in federal highway funds.
At the administration’s ninth Cabinet meeting, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem escalated concerns further, stating that “50% of Minnesota’s visas are ‘fraudulent’.”
Noem said Minnesota’s leadership had “brought people in there illegally that never should have been in this country.”
Taxpayer Money Flowing to Terror Networks
Laura Ingraham underscored the gravity of the situation, reporting that Minnesota taxpayers are “being ripped off,” with stolen funds connected to operations that have sent money to Al-Shabaab, the Somalia-based terrorist organization, along with other widespread fraud schemes.
She pressed Homan directly on when ICE’s presence will be fully felt inside the Twin Cities.
Homan declined to offer specifics but made clear that Minneapolis is now a priority zone.
“Secretary Noem’s all over it,” he said.
“I know ICE and CBP and other federal agencies — the FBI, DEA, ATF — President Trump’s been a genius on this.”
Homan described the president’s strategy as an “all-of-government” enforcement effort, ensuring that drug, gun, and violent offenders face federal prosecution before deportation.
“If we arrest an alien with drugs, you got the DEA right there,” he explained.
“If you get them with a gun, you got ATF right there to prosecute the case before we deport them.”
Minneapolis Police Chief Draws Fire
Homan also blasted the Minneapolis police chief for urging residents to report masked individuals because they may be “kidnapping people,” a thinly veiled insinuation aimed at ICE agents wearing tactical gear.
“Shame on you,” Homan said.
“Your number-one responsibility is the safety and security of your communities, and ICE is targeting criminals — criminals.”
Homan said that refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement is “shameful,” adding:
“He ought to put his badge in the desk drawer and walk away because he stopped being a cop, became a politician.”

A Preview of Intensified Federal Action
With Minnesota now at the center of high-level federal investigations, spanning fraudulent visas, illegal CDL programs, terrorist-linked fraud, and documented gang crime, the Trump administration is signaling a sustained crackdown.
Homan made it clear that Minneapolis officials may complain, but federal law enforcement is coming either way.
