Tomi Lahren Asks ‘If Brittney Griner Will Stand for National Anthem’ after U.S ‘Compromised National Security to Free Her’

Tomi Lahren has fired back in response to Democrat President Joe Biden agreeing to a prisoner swap with Russia to release WNBA star Brittney Griner.

As Slay News reported earlier, Biden agreed to release dangerous Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, aka the “Merchant of Death,” in exchange for Griner being sent back to the United States.

Lahren said the move will compromise America’s “national security” and asked if Griner will stand for the anthem now.

Before she was arrested on drug smuggling charges in Russia, “woke” women’s basketball player Griner was best known for protesting against the U.S. and refusing to stand for the national anthem.

“I wonder if Brittney Griner will sing and stand for the National Anthem now that the United States has compromised national security to free her?” Lahren said.

“I guess it pays to be a whiny celebrity who plays sports (even if no one watches),” she added.

“My only hope is that Griner will return to USA with a heart full of gratitude, legs ready to stand for the anthem and lungs ready to belt out that Star Spangled Banner- and from the rooftops!”

As Slay News reported earlier, the prisoner exchange has triggered a backlash after it emerged that Biden left U.S. Marine Paul Whelan in a Russian prison during the negotiations.

Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons said: “Wait nah!! We left a Marine?!! Hell nah.

“My last tweet was no shot at Brittney Griner,” Parsons added.

“I’m super happy she’s back home as she should be.

“I just have family who have served and it’s crazy to me the President wouldn’t bring him home too.

“I’m the furthest thing from a trump supporter but I’m not a fan of Biden either.

Shortly after going viral for questioning Biden, someone apparently “spoke” to Parsons.

“Just spoke to some people that I respect and trust,” he later added on Twitter.

“I should have been more educated on the topic and not tweeted out of emotion for my family and other who have served.

“For that I apologize.

“Also if what I’m told about the attempts to bring Ret Marine Paul Whelan home are true then the best outcome was accomplished.

“I pray Mr. Whelan comes home but am extremely happy for Brittney and her family.

“I am not too prideful to admit when I’ve made a mistake.”

Cherelle Griner said:

“Over the last nine months, you all have been so privy to one of the darkest moments of my life.

“Today, I’m just standing here overwhelmed with emotions, but the most important emotion that I have right now is just sincere gratitude for President Biden and his entire administration.

“Today my family is whole, but as you all are aware, there’s so many other families who are not whole.

“Brittney and I will remain committed to the work of getting every American home, including Paul Whelan, whose family is in our thoughts today.

“We do understand that there are still people out here who are enduring what I endured the last nine months of missing, tremendously their loved ones.”

Steve Zissou, Viktor Bout’s lawyer in the US, said:

“As I have urged for some time, given the fifteen long years that Viktor Bout has been in custody since the United States government targeted him in 2006, his exchange for Brittney Griner, who has only been in custody for a few months, is fair.

“Viktor Bout has been reunited with his family, just as Brittney Griner is with hers,” he said.

“The people of Russia never gave up on him during the fifteen years of his wrongful incarceration, just as the people of the United States never gave up on Ms. Griner.

“Hopefully, this is just the first of many reasonable agreements between the U.S. and Russia that will lead to better relations and a safer world.”
