Top Iranian General Issues Threat to Trump Over Potential Military Strikes: ‘We Will Cut Off His Hand’

One of Iran’s most senior regime officials issued a direct threat against President Donald Trump, warning that any U.S. military action would trigger retaliation against American forces throughout the Middle East, according to Iranian media reports.

The Thursday remarks came as reports confirmed that at least one U.S. aircraft carrier is being repositioned toward the region amid escalating tensions with Tehran.

The threat was delivered publicly by Mohsen Rezaei, a senior general in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a member of the country’s Expediency Discernment Council.

“Trump has said his hand is on the trigger,” Rezaei said, according to Iran International.

“We will cut off his hand and his finger.”

Rezaei also warned that Iran would abandon any prospect of restraint if attacked.

“If we move forward, there will be no talk of a ceasefire anymore,” he said.

“You do not pay attention to the restraint and strategic patience we have shown,” Rezaei added.

“Stop right now. Step back, otherwise none of your bases in the region will be safe.”

U.S. Military Movements Underway

The threat surfaced as U.S. military assets began shifting toward the Middle East.

Officials have not disclosed whether the carrier involved is the USS Abraham Lincoln, currently operating in the South China Sea, or one of two aircraft carriers that departed Norfolk and San Diego earlier this week.

Military sources said transit to the region could take at least a week, with additional U.S. air, land, and sea forces expected to follow.

The deployments are intended to provide President Trump with military options should he authorize strikes against Iran.

Rezaei’s Record and Terror Ties

Rezaei is among Iran’s most powerful military figures.

He served as commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from 1980 to 1997 and currently holds multiple senior positions, including vice president for economic affairs, secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council for Economic Coordination, and a leading figure in the Principlist Resistance Front of Islamic Iran.

In 2006, Argentine authorities issued an international arrest warrant for Rezaei in connection with the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires.

He was later sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department in January 2020 under Executive Order 13876 for advancing Iran’s destabilizing activities.

During Rezaei’s tenure, the IRGC expanded domestic repression and increased support for terrorist proxy groups abroad, including Hezbollah.

“They are continuing as before, but not at the pace before the slaughter of thousands and the arrests,” Ali Safavi of the National Council of Resistance said in a statement, claiming the number of detainees could be as high as 50,000.

Describing clashes that continued through Wednesday night into Thursday in Tehran and Kermanshah, including reports of gunfire, Safavi said:

“There is still a total shutdown of the internet.

“Security forces are raiding residential areas and going to people’s rooftops.

“They started destroying satellite dishes.”

Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s president-elect, urged the international community to act immediately to secure the release of detainees and called for an urgent international fact-finding mission to investigate conditions inside Iran’s prisons.
