Trump to Award Ben Carson the Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Donald Trump has announced that Dr. Ben Carson will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Trump revealed that Carson will receive the nation’s highest civilian honor at the American Cornerstone Institute’s Founders’ Dinner on Saturday.

Carson, who founded the ACI after serving as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during Trump’s first term, has remained a close ally of the president.

A pioneering neurosurgeon and former Republican presidential candidate, Carson has been recognized for decades of service in medicine, public life, and faith-based advocacy.

According to ACI’s mission statement, Carson continues to champion “the principles that have guided him through life, and that make this country great: Faith, Liberty, Community, and Life.”

Earlier this month, Carson endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) re-election bid.

He praised Graham as “a steadfast conservative leader for South Carolina and our nation.”

Carson also delivered remarks at the memorial service for slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Thousands gathered to honor Kirk, who was publicly assassinated during a campus event in Utah.

Carson’s Medal of Freedom announcement comes as Congress moves to formally recognize Charlie Kirk’s contributions to the conservative movement.

On Friday, the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring Kirk’s life and condemning political violence by a vote of 215–95.

All Republicans and 95 Democrats supported the measure, while members of the far-left “Squad” and other Democrats opposed it.

The resolution commended Kirk’s “steadfast dedication to the Constitution, civil discourse, and Biblical truth” and extended condolences to his wife, Erika, and their children.

The Senate followed with unanimous consent to designate October 14, Kirk’s birthday, as a “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.”

The resolution, led by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), calls on Americans to honor Kirk’s legacy with civic education, prayer, and programs rooted in faith and liberty.

“Charlie was a good man — a devout husband, father, and friend,” Scott said from the Senate floor.
