President Donald Trump sharply criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on Wednesday after the two lawmakers repeatedly shouted during his State of the Union address.
The confrontation unfolded as President Trump highlighted fraud and criminal activity in Minnesota and emphasized his administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.
As the camera focused on Omar while the president referenced corruption in Somalia and fraud rings in Minnesota, she appeared visibly emotional.
“If you agree with this statement, stand up to show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” Trump said.
Republicans stood and applauded, while many Democrats remained seated.
President Trump then rebuked Democrats for opposing his immigration enforcement policies.
“[Democrats] are blocking the removal of [illegal alien drug lords, murderers, and rapists] out of our country, and you should be ashamed of yourselves!” he said.
The chamber then erupted with cheers and applause from Republicans, leading into chants of “U-S-A! U-S-A!”
Omar shouted back from the chamber floor.
“You have killed Americans!” Omar said.
“You should be ashamed!” she added.
Tlaib also joined in shouting toward the president during the address.

Trump Responds on Truth Social
The following day, Trump responded on Truth Social with a lengthy post criticizing the two “low IQ” lawmakers’ behavior during what he described as a formal and historic event.
“When you watch Low IQ Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, as they screamed uncontrollably last night at the very elegant State of the Union, such an important and beautiful event, they had the bulging, bloodshot eyes of crazy people, LUNATICS, mentally deranged and sick who, frankly, look like they should be institutionalized,” Trump wrote.
“When people can behave like that, and knowing that they are Crooked and Corrupt Politicians, so bad for our Country, we should send them back from where they came — as fast as possible.
“They can only damage the United States of America, they can do nothing to help it.
“They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying — some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!” he continued.
“When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States.
“The only difference between De Niro and Rosie is that she is probably somewhat smarter than him, which isn’t saying much.
“The good news is that America is now Bigger, Better, Richer, and Stronger than ever before, and it’s driving them absolutely crazy!

Ongoing Tensions
The exchange underscores ongoing tensions between Trump and progressive members of Congress who have frequently opposed his immigration and law enforcement policies.
Tuesday night’s State of the Union focused heavily on border security, crime enforcement, and what Trump described as a renewed era of American strength heading into the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The heated reactions from Omar and Tlaib marked one of the most contentious moments of the address.
