Trump Drops Hammer on ‘Ungrateful’ Globalists in WEF Speech

President Donald Trump delivered a blistering address Wednesday at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, openly confronting globalist elites and accusing U.S. allies of ingratitude while calling for immediate negotiations to bring Greenland under American control.

Speaking directly to the international power brokers in attendance at the WEF’s annual summit in Switzerland, Trump declared that the United States has been treated “very unfairly” by NATO.

The president blasted the crowd of world leaders and corporate elites, arguing that America shoulders the burden while receiving little in return.

“The United States is treated very unfairly by NATO… we give so much, and we get so little in return,” Trump said.

“I’ve done more to help NATO than any other president, by far.

“You wouldn’t have NATO if I didn’t get involved in my first term.”

Trump pointed to the war in Ukraine as evidence of America’s outsized role, emphasizing that his leadership forced allies to contribute more after years of free-riding.

Trump Calls Out Denmark Over Greenland

The president then turned his focus to Denmark, saying he holds “great respect” for the Danish people, but not for their political leadership.

Trump reminded the audience that the United States secured Greenland during World War II to prevent enemy forces from gaining a foothold in the Western Hemisphere, only to hand it back after the war.

The president then scolded the Danish government and other globalist world leaders for being “ungrateful” for the global security that America provides them with.

“We saved Greenland and successfully prevented our enemies from gaining a foothold in our hemisphere,” Trump said.

“Then after the war, which we won—without us you’d all be speaking German and a little Japanese—we gave Greenland back to Denmark.

“How stupid were we to do that?”

He accused Denmark of failing to meaningfully defend the island despite repeated promises.

“In 2019, Denmark said they would spend over $200 million to strengthen Greenland’s defenses.

“They spent less than 1% of that amount.

“There’s no sign of Denmark there.”

Only the United States Can Secure Greenland

Trump argued that Greenland’s location and size make it indispensable to U.S. and global security, describing it as part of North America’s northern frontier.

He noted that no other nation in the world, especially Denmark, is capable of protecting the island from an invasion by an adversary such as China or Russia.

Yet, the U.S. would be placed in an unprecedented national security threat should either nation decide to take Greenland.

“No nation or group of nations is in any position to secure Greenland other than the United States,” he said.

“We’re a great power, much greater than people even understand.

“I think they found that out two weeks ago in Venezuela.”

“This enormous unsecured island is actually part of North America… that’s our territory.”

Trump reminded nations that America fought to defend allies during World War 2, despite the United States facing no direct threats from the Nazis.

However, he noted that globalist governments are quick to forget what America has done for them when the U.S. is now facing a major national security threat.

“But how ungrateful are they now?” he asked.

The president warned that the modern threat environment, including advanced missiles, nuclear weapons, and next-generation warfare, makes control of the Arctic more urgent than ever.

“Our country and the world face much greater risks than ever before,” Trump said.

The president added that recent events in Venezuela revealed weapons “nobody ever heard of.”

Before concluding, Trump demanded swift action.

“It’s the United States alone that can protect this giant mass of land, develop it, improve it, and make it safe for Europe and good for us,” he said, calling for “immediate negotiations” on Greenland’s sale.

NATO Talks Already Underway

Trump confirmed earlier this week that he plans to meet with Mark Rutte and other stakeholders to advance the effort, calling Greenland’s acquisition “imperative for national and world security.”

In messages publicly shared by the president, Rutte indicated a willingness to “find a way forward on Greenland.”

Trump made clear in Davos that the era of America carrying the world while being second-guessed is over and that U.S. strategic interests will no longer be negotiable.
