President Donald Trump is calling for a full investigation into whether Joe Biden’s aides conspired to deceive the public and illegally exercised presidential authority through the use of an autopen.
Trump has ordered U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether those aides were concealing Biden’s severe cognitive decline from the American people.
In a formal memo ordering the probe on Wednesday, Trump declared:
“This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history.
“The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power.”
According to Trump, presidential signatures — with the power to make laws, appoint judges, issue pardons, and direct national policy — were routinely affixed to over 1,200 executive documents, even as Biden’s mental state deteriorated.
“It has become increasingly apparent that former President Biden’s aides abused the power of Presidential signatures… to conceal Biden’s cognitive decline,” Trump stated.
Trump continued by citing Biden’s “serious cognitive decline” and claiming it was “even ‘worse’ in private.”
The president pointed to troubling examples, including the Christmas 2024 commutation of 37 violent federal death row inmates.
Those inmates included mass murderers and child killers.
The controversial order was executed via autopen.
“There are serious doubts as to the decision-making process and even the degree of Biden’s awareness,” Trump warned.
He added that the use of the autopen in the second half of Biden’s presidency may have masked his inability to carry out his constitutional duties.
The memo demands that AG Bondi lead a probe into whether Biden’s advisors orchestrated a cover-up.
These actions could include directing fake video production or issuing false public statements about Biden’s mental state.
Trump also suggests Biden may not have supported many of his own border security policies.
Those policies fueled the ongoing immigration crisis.
Instead, Trump says radical actors within the White House pushed these directives through using the mechanical signature tool.
“If his advisors secretly used the mechanical signature pen… while taking radical executive actions all in his name, that would constitute an unconstitutional wielding of the power of the Presidency,” Trump wrote.
House Republicans, led by Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY), have launched their own investigation and are reportedly open to calling Biden to testify.
In a statement, Biden dismissed the accusations as political theater, saying:
“Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency.
“I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations.
“Any suggestion that I didn’t [make the decisions] is ridiculous and false…
“This is nothing more than a distraction by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans.”
The statement from “Biden” was sent to corporate media outlets, and he has not made these remarks in public.
