President Donald Trump has just revealed that his senior advisor Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have just exposed something “horrible” during their investigations into fraud and waste.
According to Trump, the findings are “incredible,” and the American people will “find out very soon” what they discovered.
Trump dropped the bombshell as the corporate media spreads false rumors that Musk is stepping down from DOGE.
The White House confirmed that Musk will only leave the Trump administration once his “incredible work with DOGE is complete.”
Musk’s cost-cutting work with DOGE has been at the center of controversy during the early months of Trump’s second term.
Democrats have attacked Musk repeatedly while falsely accusing Trump of empowering a shadowy “oligarchy” that caters to the super-rich.
However, the opposite is true as Musk’s company, Tesla, has suffered from the backlash over his government role.
Both Trump and Musk have said that the Tesla CEO will eventually step down when DOGE’s work is finished.
Musk is a “special government employee,” a status that is limited to 130 days.
The president’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, dismissed a debunked hit piece from Politico, citing anonymous sources, that claimed Musk is considered a “liability” within the Trump administration.
“This ‘scoop’ is garbage,” Leavitt said.
“Elon Musk and President Trump have both *publicly* stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at DOGE is complete.”
“Yeah, fake news,” Musk added.
Musk previously told Fox News’s Brett Baier that 130 days was enough for him to finish his job.
“I think we will have accomplished most of the work required to reduce the deficit by $1 trillion within that time frame,” he said.
Trump expressed regret this week as he acknowledged the coming end of Musk’s tenure.
“Well, I think he’s … amazing,” Trump said earlier this week.
“But I also think he’s got a big company to run.
“And so, at some point, he’s going to be going back. He wants to.
“I’d keep him as long as I can keep him,” Trump said.
“He’s a very talented guy. You know, I love very smart people.
“He’s very smart. And he’s done a good job,” the president added.
“DOGE is, we’ve found numbers that nobody can even believe.”
On Thursday evening, Trump spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One who asked the president about Musk’s role in his administration.
Trump again gave Musk credit for his leadership at DOGE, which has so far achieved estimated savings of $140 billion, amounting to roughly $869.57 per taxpayer.
“Elon is fantastic,” the president said.
“He’s a patriot. He found millions of dollars of fraud.”
“He loves the country; that’s why he does it,” Trump added.
Addressing speculation about Musk’s future, Trump asserted:
“I want him to stay as long as possible.”
Trump then dropped the news about DOGE’s latest discovery.
“They found something today that’s horrible,” Trump revealed.
“You’ll find out very soon.
“What they found is incredible.”

While Musk is soon going to be leaving his government position at some point, Vice President J.D. Vance says the critical work of DOGE will continue.
Vance noted that Musk will always remain a “friend and adviser” to the Trump team.
