President Donald Trump is calling on House Republicans to vote to release all remaining Jeffrey Epstein files, declaring that he has “nothing to hide.”
In a Truth Social post on Sunday, the president accused Democrats of weaponizing the disgraced financier’s crimes to distract from GOP victories.
Trump blasted Democrats for turning the matter into what he called a “hoax,” insisting the controversy is meant to divert attention away from Republicans’ recent success in forcing Democrats to end their own government shutdown.
Trump emphasized that he has already supported transparency, saying House Republicans should vote to release the documents because the party has nothing to hide and should “move on” from what he called a politically motivated smear.
He also noted that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has previously released tens of thousands of pages of Epstein-related material, yet Democrats continue to selectively weaponize the issue.
Trump pointed out that the DOJ is now actively investigating Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
He stressed that if the House Oversight Committee wants access to information, they can have anything they’re legally entitled to, adding that he does not care about further disclosures.
The president argued that Republicans must stay focused on the issues where they are winning: the economy, affordability, the drop in inflation, historic tax cuts, record levels of investment flowing into the United States, rebuilding the military, securing the border, deporting criminal illegal aliens, protecting women’s sports, and rolling back radical gender policies.
According to Trump, Democrats are using the Epstein scandal as a political decoy because they lack accomplishments of their own.
He warned that some Republicans risk being manipulated by Democrats pushing the narrative, and that the party should refuse to fall into what he called the “Epstein trap,” which he argued ultimately hurts Democrats more than Republicans.
Trump also insisted that if Democrats possessed any damaging information, they would have released it before last year’s presidential election.
“Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive,” he said, adding that Democrats would never have waited until after his “landslide victory” if they genuinely had evidence to use against him.
Instead, Trump contends that Democrats are recycling the scandal to draw attention away from Republican momentum and legislative accomplishments.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday that the Justice Department will be probing the links between Epstein and several high-profile Democrats after newly released emails revealed previously undisclosed contacts.
Bondi stated that Jay Clayton, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, will lead the investigation.
The AG called Clayton one of the most trusted prosecutors in the country and pledged that the department will conduct the probe with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.
Trump’s post comes as a “discharge petition for the House to vote to force” the DOJ to release additional files relating to Epstein was reported to have “received its final signature.”
It received support from the House Democrats and Republicans, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), according to the New York Post.
Trump’s message is clear: release the files, expose the Democrats’ connections, and keep the Republican Party focused on its policy achievements and the issues that matter most to voters.
