Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard sharply condemned anti-ICE protesters who disrupted a church service in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sunday, calling their actions “demoniac” and urging accountability for those involved.
The leftist mob, which appeared to be led by former CNN host Don Lemon, stormed the church over false claims that a pastor worked for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Those claims and other falsehoods were being amplified by Lemon, who was posing as a “journalist” and livestreaming the events on social media.
In a Tuesday post on X, Gabbard, a former Democrat congresswoman, said the incident underscored why she left the Democratic Party.
“One of the main reasons I left the Democrat Party was because of their hostility towards God and those who have faith in or are trying to cultivate their love for God,” Gabbard wrote.
“Those so-called ‘protestors’ who tried to intimidate and terrorize innocent women, children, and men in the Minneapolis church is just another example of their hostility towards God and His worshippers.
“Such behavior is demoniac and should be condemned by everyone, and those who took part in such intimidation tactics should be held accountable.”

Church Service Disrupted, Livestreamed by Don Lemon
The remarks followed a disruption at Cities Church, a Southern Baptist congregation, where anti-ICE activists entered during a worship service.
Lemon appeared to provoke the disturbance and livestreamed the scene as protesters shouted slogans including “ICE out,” “Hands up, don’t shoot,” and “Justice for Renee Good.”
Good was an anti-ICE activist fatally shot earlier this month after allegedly attempting to run over a federal agent with her vehicle, according to federal officials.
Trump Blasts Protesters, Targets Minnesota Democrats
President Donald Trump responded to the incident early Tuesday with a post on Truth Social, denouncing the protesters as “agitators and insurrectionists” and suggesting the group appeared “highly trained” in coordinated disruption tactics.
“These people are professionals! No person acts the way they act,” Trump wrote.
“They are highly trained to scream, rant, and rave, like lunatics.”
Trump also called for investigations into Minnesota Democrat leaders, including Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Gov. Tim Walz, accusing them of fueling unrest.
DOJ Weighing Federal Charges
The Department of Justice has indicated that the FACE Act, a federal statute protecting access to religious worship, could be used to prosecute individuals involved in the church disruption.
Federal officials have not announced charges, but the incident remains under active review as scrutiny intensifies over escalating confrontations between anti-ICE activists and law enforcement.
