Turning Point USA announced Thursday that Erika Kirk, widow of the late Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected to succeed her husband as CEO and Chair of the Board of the conservative campus organization he founded.
The vote was announced in a post on X.
It fulfilled wishes that Charlie himself had expressed before his assassination last week at a Utah Valley University event.
“The Turning Point Board has unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board,” the board’s statement read
“In prior discussions, Charlie expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted in the event of his death.”
The letter from board members Doug DeGroote, Mike Miller, Tom Sodeika, and Dave Engelhardt framed the transition in biblical terms:
“In Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote that mankind is to be tested by God.
“Today, we are facing such a test, yet we also know that God has prepared us with everything we need to overcome this ordeal.
“It was the honor of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie’s side.
“Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one.
“He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests.
“And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA.”
The letter closed by echoing Erika Kirk’s resolve after her husband’s death, pledging that the organization would not waver in its mission.
“All of us at Turning Point USA have a special role in carrying Charlie Kirk’s mantle and completing his vision of bringing us all closer to our Lord and fostering a prosperous country for generations to come,” the statement reads.
“As Charlie always said, ‘We have a country to save.’
“We will not surrender or kneel before evil.
“We will carry on,” the statement vows.
“The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.”

Charlie Kirk founded TPUSA in 2012.
He built the group into one of the most influential youth conservative organizations in America.
His public assassination last week stunned the conservative movement and sparked nationwide conversations about political violence.
By elevating Erika Kirk to the helm, TPUSA signaled both continuity and defiance.
The movement Charlie Kirk launched will continue, and the vision he cast will not die with him.
