British police are “assessing information” on whether to open a criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s private flights to the United Kingdom, including at least one flight allegedly linked to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the disgraced former prince.
It comes amid growing pressure to investigate Epstein’s ties as newly released documents continue to expose the scope of the convicted sex offender’s international network.
Essex Police confirmed Tuesday that authorities are reviewing information tied to flights in and out of Stansted Airport following the U.S. Justice Department’s publication of the latest Epstein files.
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has urged investigators to question Mountbatten-Windsor directly, arguing the revelations demand renewed scrutiny.
Writing in The New Statesman, Brown said the files suggest multiple British girls were transported through the UK aboard Epstein’s private jet, widely known as the “Lolita Express.”
Flight logs show roughly 90 arrivals and departures at UK airports.
They include 15 flights approved after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for child sex crimes.
Brown stated that “at least one” of those flights was connected to Mountbatten-Windsor and insisted:
“I have asked the police to look at this as part of the new inquiry.
“The Stansted revelations alone require them to interview Andrew.”

Fresh Evidence Raises Questions About Claimed Break with Epstein
The latest disclosures also appear to contradict Mountbatten-Windsor’s long-standing claim that he severed ties with Epstein in December 2010.
During his 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, he asserted he had no further contact after the pair were photographed walking together in New York’s Central Park.
The former prince admitted that the photo was taken while he visited Epstein and stayed at the pedophile’s “House of Horrors” NYC mansion.
However, Andrew claims he only went to stay with Epstein so he could tell him that they couldn’t be friends anymore.
This claim has now been repeatedly proven false.
Emails show he sent Epstein Christmas greetings in both 2011 and 2012, as Slay News reported.
Andrew sent Epstein festive cards featuring photographs of his own daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
The 2011 message to the convicted pedophile, signed “Andrew,” read:
“Wishing you much joy and happiness at this time and for the year ahead.”
Additional correspondence from October 2012 included details of a young woman described as having “just turned 18, 179cm, very cute, speaks English.”
Brown said such communications reveal “in graphic detail” how Epstein allegedly used Stansted Airport to move girls from Eastern Europe.
The former prime minister called on the Metropolitan Police to revisit their earlier decision not to pursue a full investigation.

Pressure Mounts for Renewed Inquiry
The Metropolitan Police previously concluded in 2019 that any trafficking investigation would focus largely on activities outside the UK.
Brown now argues that Britain’s “as yet unacknowledged role” requires urgent examination, adding:
“The evidence suggests some in the UK were complicit in trafficking.
“This demands a full inquiry.”
He further claimed investigators failed to review key flight evidence and had not contacted certain women named in the files.
Mountbatten-Windsor also faces separate scrutiny over allegations he shared confidential government information with Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy from 2001 to 2011.
Newly disclosed emails suggest he forwarded details of official trips across Asia and a confidential investment briefing on Afghanistan.
Reports additionally indicate he sought a private Treasury memo on Iceland’s financial crisis and passed it to a banker associate.
Business discussions between Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein, reportedly conducted through a mutual intermediary, continued for years after Epstein’s 2009 release from prison, including plans tied to potential ventures in China.

A 2017 email from Larry Visoski, Epstein's longtime pilot, flagged concerns about a plane they were looking to use.

Ongoing Fallout From Epstein Files
The expanding document releases have reignited global scrutiny of figures connected to Epstein, whose 2019 death in federal custody left many investigations unresolved.
Whether British authorities ultimately launch a criminal probe into the Stansted flights may determine how deeply the scandal reaches into UK institutions, and whether long-standing questions surrounding Mountbatten-Windsor finally receive formal examination.
