U.S Embassy Issues Emergency Alert for All Americans to Immediately Leave Iran

The U.S. virtual embassy in Iran has just issued a security alert, warning American citizens to immediately leave the country and prepare an exit plan that does not rely on U.S. government assistance as nationwide unrest intensifies.

The advisory came on Friday morning, just hours before U.S. and Iranian officials were scheduled to hold talks in Oman.

The alert underscores mounting concern about a potential military confrontation between the two nations.

American citizens were urged to establish backup communication methods due to expected Internet restrictions and to consider leaving Iran by land through Armenia or Turkey.

“The U.S. government cannot guarantee your safety if you choose to depart using the following options,” the alert stated.

“You should leave only if you believe it is safe to do so.”

Security Crackdown, Communication Restrictions

The embassy warned that heightened security measures imposed by the Iranian regime, including road closures, transportation disruptions, and internet blockages, remain in effect across the country.

Authorities have restricted communications as part of an ongoing crackdown on protesters that has reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths, according to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).

The embassy advised Americans seeking departure to confirm travel details directly with airlines, noting that flights have been disrupted by the deteriorating security environment.

“If you cannot leave, find a secure location within your residence or another safe building,” the embassy said.

“Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.”

Detention Risks for Dual Nationals

Officials warned that U.S.-Iranian dual nationals must use Iranian passports when exiting the country.

The warning notes that presenting a U.S. passport or showing ties to the United States “can be reason enough for Iranian authorities to detain someone.”

Because Iran does not recognize dual nationality, such individuals will be treated solely as Iranian citizens by the regime.

“U.S. nationals are at significant risk of questioning, arrest, and detention in Iran,” the advisory stated, urging those without valid U.S. passports to apply for one after leaving the country.

The embassy also encouraged Americans in Iran to remain vigilant, avoid demonstrations, and “keep a low profile.”

Casualties Mount As Tensions Rise

The United States lacks diplomatic relations with Iran and relies on Switzerland’s embassy in Tehran to serve as the protecting power for U.S. interests.

As of Thursday, HRANA reported that at least 6,495 protesters, 214 security forces, and government supporters had been killed in unrest sparked by soaring inflation and the collapse of the Iranian rial.

The figures could not be independently verified.

The organization said its totals are based on “verified individual reports” and may ultimately be far higher.

HRANA also reported approximately 50,921 detentions tied to the protests.

Tensions escalated further after President Donald Trump warned of possible military intervention.

Trump issued the warning in response to the radical Islamic regime’s crackdown and demanded that Tehran negotiate limits on its nuclear program.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei responded that Iran does not seek war but “will strike a strong blow against anyone who attacks and harasses” its territory, according to state media.

Khamenei’s threat followed President Trump’s Truth Social post announcing “a massive armada” deployment to the Middle East.
