Claims that U.S. forces deployed a powerful, previously unseen “sonic weapon” during the raid that captured Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro are spreading rapidly after a dramatic eyewitness account described Venezuelan security forces being incapacitated by what appeared to be a mysterious wave of sound or energy.
The eyewitness report received a major boost of authenticity after the post was shared on X by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
“Stop what you are doing and read this,” Leavitt wrote.
The account details how Venezuelan defenders were overwhelmed within minutes during the January 3 operation.
“We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation,” the guard said.
“The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions.
“We didn’t know how to react.”
According to the account, later reported by the New York Post, only a small U.S. unit entered the area, “barely eight” helicopters deploying roughly 20 troops, yet they quickly seized control of the battlefield.
“They were technologically very advanced,” the guard said.
“They didn’t look like anything we’ve fought against before.”
“My Head Was Exploding from the Inside”
The witness described the encounter as completely one-sided, claiming Venezuelan forces were outmatched despite their numerical advantage.
“We were hundreds, but we had no chance,” he said.
“They were shooting with such precision and speed; it felt like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute.”
The most disturbing claim came next.
“At one point, they launched something; I don’t know how to describe it,” the guard said.
“It was like a very intense sound wave.
“Suddenly, I felt like my head was exploding from the inside.”
He alleged the physical effects were immediate and widespread.
“We all started bleeding from the nose,” they revealed.
“Some were vomiting blood.
“We fell to the ground, unable to move.
“We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon, or whatever it was.”
🚨This account from a Venezuelan security guard loyal to Nicolás Maduro is absolutely chilling—and it explains a lot about why the tone across Latin America suddenly changed.

White House Offers No Confirmation
The White House has not confirmed whether reposting the account amounted to verification of the claims.
No official acknowledgment has been made regarding the use of any experimental or classified weaponry during the operation.
Venezuela’s Interior Ministry has claimed roughly 100 members of its security forces were killed in the raid.
It remains unclear whether any of those deaths were linked to the alleged device.
Directed-Energy Weapons Back in Focus
A former U.S. intelligence source said the description closely resembles directed-energy weapons, systems that use focused energy such as microwaves or other electromagnetic waves to disable targets without traditional explosives.
“The military has had versions of these for decades,” the source said.
“Some of those systems can cause bleeding, intense pain, burning sensations, and complete physical incapacitation.”
Similar allegations surfaced in 2020, when China was accused of using a microwave weapon against Indian troops during a border standoff in Ladakh, claims Beijing denied.
“A Warning to Anyone Who Thinks They Can Fight the U.S.”
The Venezuelan guard said the psychological impact of the raid is already reverberating across the region, especially after President Donald Trump recently warned that Mexico was now “on the list.”
“I’m sending a warning to anyone who thinks they can fight the United States,” he said.
“They have no idea what they’re capable of.
“After what I saw, I never want to be on the other side of that again.
“They’re not to be messed with.”
He added that the consequences of the operation extend far beyond Venezuela.
“Everyone is talking about this,” he said.
“What happened here is going to change a lot of things — not just in Venezuela, but throughout the region.”
Whether the claims involve a classified weapon, psychological warfare, or battlefield misinformation, the account has reignited speculation about the true extent of America’s military capabilities and what remains hidden from public view.
