NFL star Damar Hamlin broke down when he presented the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2023 ESPYs.
Hamlin presented the award to the Buffalo Bills training staff who helped save his life during a game earlier this year.
First, the show played a video tribute narrated by Hamlin before the Christian football player broke down crying as he tried to hand out the award.
The training staff came onstage and comforted Hamlin, saving him once again.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Except for the cynics.
Damar Hamlin had the honor of giving the Pat Tillman Award for Service to the Bills training staff at the ESPYs tonight.
Amazing.

Nathan Breske, the team’s head athletic trainer, said it was the “best outcome we could’ve prayed for or imagined” before thanking “the massive army of specialists who came together on and off the field to do their jobs that night,”
He mentioned the Bills and Bengals athletic training and medical staff, equipment managers, player engagement personnel, mental health clinicians, chaplains, security, on-field first responders, paramedics, and the entire medical staff at the University of Cincinnati medical center.
He added, looking at Hamlin, “Thank you for staying alive brotha.
“We are so honored to be standing next to such a strong, courageous human being.”
