World Economic Forum (WEF) CEO and President Børge Brende has abruptly stepped down after newly exposed emails revealed troubling communications with Jeffrey Epstein, including discussions about a plot with the convicted child predator to establish global governance.
The resignation adds yet another powerful name to the widening Epstein scandal, which continues to ripple across corporate boardrooms and political circles.
WEF confirmed Brende’s departure in a statement, announcing that Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president and chief executive.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to step down as President and CEO of the World Economic Forum,” Brende said.
“I am grateful for the incredible collaboration with my colleagues, partners, and constituents, and I believe now is the right moment for the Forum to continue its important work without distractions.”
The timing speaks volumes.
Emails Show “New Global Architecture” Discussion
It comes after the World Economic Forum had launched an internal probe into Brende’s relationship with Epstein.
The investigation was triggered after it emerged that the two exchanged emails between 2018 and 2019 and met for at least three so-called “business dinners,” including at Epstein’s New York “House of Horrors” mansion.
The communications reveal far more than casual acquaintance.
In one exchange, Epstein wrote to Brende describing the Trilateral Commission as:
“The Trilateral Commission is a non-governmental, policy-oriented forum that brings together leaders in their individual capacity from the worlds of business, government, academia, press and media, as well as civil society.”
He continued:
“The Commission offers a global platform for open dialogue, reaching out to those with different views and engaging with decision makers from around the world with the aim of finding solutions to the great geopolitical, economic and social challenges of our time.
“Its members share a firm belief in the values of rule of law, democratic government, human rights, freedom of speech and free enterprise that underpin human progress.
“Members are also committed to supporting a rules-based international system, closer cooperation across borders and respect for the diversity of approaches to policy issues.
“bring this into the 21 st century.. making davos a permanent place. for discussion. not a one trick pony :)”
Brende replied:
“Exactly – we need a new global architecture.
“World Economic Forum (Davos) is uniquely positioned – public private.”
Epstein then responded, arguing that they could “replace” the United Nations (UN) as a global body:
“davos can really replace the UN.”
“cyber, crypto. genetics… intl coordination. like my stint at the trilateral.
“issues now need to deal with the distributed trust. and internet fallout.”

Additionally, further communications dispute Brende’s claims that Epstein was merely a casual acquaintance.
In an April 2018 text message thread to “my friend” Epstein, Brende wrote:
“Missing you, Sir. Borge.”
“Unaware” of Epstein’s Crimes?
In a prior statement, Brende insisted he was “completely unaware of Epstein’s past and criminal activities.”
That claim has raised eyebrows.
Epstein was first arrested in 2006 in Palm Beach, Florida.
In 2008, he pleaded guilty to child sex crimes.
He was arrested again in 2019 on federal child sex trafficking charges.
The idea that global leaders interacting with Epstein in 2018–2019 were unaware of his criminal history has become increasingly difficult for the public to accept.
The Globalist Connection
Brende’s resignation is the latest blow to the World Economic Forum, long criticized for promoting an aggressive globalist agenda centered on centralized governance, digital control, and sweeping economic restructuring.
The WEF’s annual Davos summit has become a gathering place for world leaders, corporate titans, and transnational institutions pushing coordinated policies on climate, finance, technology, and social governance.
Now, internal emails show the organization’s chief executive engaging in discussions with Epstein about creating a “new global architecture” and positioning Davos as a potential replacement for the United Nations.
The optics are devastating.
As the Epstein files continue to surface, it is becoming clear that the network extended deep into elite institutions that shape global policy.
Brende’s sudden exit may be framed as a move to prevent “distractions,” but the damage is already done.
And as more documents emerge, it raises the question of how many more global power brokers were quietly in Epstein’s orbit.
Perhaps only the most careless have been exposed so far.
