Liz Cheney ‘Thinking About’ Running for President after Getting Crushed in GOP Primary

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has said she is “thinking about” running for president after getting crushed by Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman in Tuesday’s Republican primary.

Cheney suffered a massive repudiation at the hands of Wyoming voters last night.

The outgoing congresswoman lost to Hageman by nearly 40 points in the GOP primary for the lone Wyoming House seat.

However, Cheney remains defiant, despite the crushing loss, and is continuing to trash President Donald Trump.

Speaking during an interview Wednesday morning, Cheney is now saying she is thinking about running for president in the hope of stopping Trump.

“I believe that Donald Trump continues to pose a very grave threat and risk to our republic,” Cheney said.

“And I think that defeating him is going to require a broad and united front of Republicans, Democrats, and independents, and that’s what I intend to be a part of.

“We’ve now got one major political party, my party, which has really become a cult of personality, and we’ve got to get this party back to a place where we’re embracing the values and the principles on which it was founded.

“That’s a decision that I’m going to make in the coming months, and I’m not going to make any announcements here this morning — but it is something that I am thinking about,” she said of running for president.

She didn’t say which party she would with but she will waste her money if she runs in the Republican primary.

Trump celebrated Cheney’s defeat and said he hopes she will “disappear into the depths of political oblivion.”

“This is a wonderful result for America,” Trump said.

“Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others.

“Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now.”
