Kevin McCarthy Warns Adam Schiff: ‘He Will Not Be’ ‘Chair of the Committee in a New Congress’

Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has issued a chilling warning to Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) that his days as a powerful member of Congress may be numbered.

McCarthy warned the California Democrat that Republicans will remove him as chair of the House Intelligence Committee if they ride the red wave to victory in 2022.

At his press conference Friday, McCarthy went after Schiff for politicizing the committee.

The GOP leader blasted Schiff for not warning the public about Ukraine or Afghanistan, and not being straight about intelligence regarding President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

While unloading on Schiff, McCarthy said: “Why is he still chair of the committee and why is he still even on the committee?

“In a new Congress, if it’s a new majority he will not be.

“You cannot make this committee political, you cannot use it as a position of chairman to lie, and you should be focused on what the American people want you to be focused on around the world.”

In January, McCarthy vowed to remove Schiff and Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) from their House committee roles.

On the topic of rising inflation in Biden’s America, McCarthy said:

“Rising prices are a tax on every American, and they show no sign of stopping.

“By the end of Biden’s first 2 years as president, families could be losing more than $6,000 in buying power to inflation.

“Democrats’ reckless government spending led to this.”

McCarthy also called Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi out of touch:

“Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi said Democrats have done a great job.

“We must take great pride in what we’ve done.

“We’ve got a lot to brag about.

“How remarkably out of touch.”
