Embattled Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) has snubbed former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s return to politics by urging Republicans to “take a look at some of the others.”
Murkowski broke her silence on Palin’s announcement that she’s running for Alaska’s only seat in the House of Representatives by suggesting other candidates have better “qualifications.”
President Donald Trump has already endorsed Palin for the seat.
However, Trump has done the opposite with Murkowski and is publicly backing her primary challenger.
When a reporter asked about Palin, Murkowski snapped back, saying: “Why don’t you ask an original question?”
She then complained that everybody wants her to comment on Palin’s return to politics.
The reporter kept pushing and the senator said:
“I have had so many questions in the past two days about one candidate — one individual out of 50 — who has advanced her name to fill our late Congressman’s seat.
“I’m going to just challenge the press to take a look at some of the others because there’s some folks with real good qualifications.
“We have Native leaders, we have legislators who are currently serving and some who are formerly serving.
“We got some great businessmen and women.”
“We’re gonna have an opportunity to rank them, and we’ll have those top four,” said Murkowski of the new ranked-choice voting in Alaska.
In the primary, the field of 50 will be whittled down to 4 who will then square off in the general election to send a Rep to Congress.
She added:
“I don’t think it’s appropriate for me, in this kind of weird jungle primary, to be tipping the scales at this point.”
“This is your own kind of bubble,” she added.
“I’m just telling you, you’re not in Alaska’s bubble, because Alaskans are talking about the others.”

According to Newsbreak, “Palin and Murkowski have a colorful history.
“In 2010, Palin backed a Tea Party-style Republican primary challenger against Murkowski who went on to defeat the senator.
“But Murkowski miraculously prevailed in the general election through a write-in campaign in which she ran an ad with a mock-up spelling bee instructing voters how to spell her name.”
Palin said when she announced:
“Public service is a calling, and I would be honored to represent the men and women of Alaska in Congress, just as Rep.
“Young did for 49 years. I realize that I have very big shoes to fill.
“And I plan to honor Rep. Young’s legacy by offering myself up in the name of service to the state he loved and fought for because I share that passion for Alaska and the United States of America.”
“America is at a tipping point.
“As I’ve watched the far left destroy the country, I knew I had to step up and join the fight.
“The people of the great state of Alaska like others are struggling with out-of-control inflation and gas prices that are among the highest in the world.”
