The mainstream media is at their most pathetic when they are so thoroughly in denial of a cultural moment that the entire nation inescapably realizes how disconnected and deceitful they are. The latest wide-angle miss from the press has been in the #LetsGoBrandon phenomenon that first began with NASCAR spectators yelling “F*ck Joe Biden” at Talladega Super-speedway October 2nd during an NBC interview with winner Brandon Brown. Fast-forward about three weeks and Kelli Stavast’s denial seems to have jumped brands to CNN and spread to Edward-Isaac Dovere a ‘reporter’ who has characterized a rapidly building movement in the national consciousness as “an inside joke”… yeah… sure.
NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast attempted to obtusely hand-wave away the chant that was clearly audible throughout her interview by implying the people were shouting “Let’s Go Brandon”, but this wasn’t ‘Laurel & Yanny’, nobody bought it, and a meme was born. As the BBC noted, “the conservative social media ecosystem quickly latched onto the moment.” Stavast can no more wave away the movement than Dovere could as it spread to the halls of Congress when Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) wore a mask emblazoned with the phrase and Congressman Bill Posey (R-FL) included it in his remarks from the floor of the House!

The song “Let’s Go Brandon” by Bryson Gray is ranking as #1, #2, #3 and #8 on the iTunes Top 10 and even ranked on Billboard’s Hot 100 at number 45! #LetsGoBrandon has transformed from a “moment” to a viral meme and now to a movement. And the leftist mainstream media’s transparently desperate attempts to minimize it are only feeding the flames.
At least the BBC is willing to admit what this really is, even if they have a dim view of Sen. Ted Cruz.
“Let’s go, Brandon!” has since been chanted at college football games, printed on T-shirts, and praised by Republicans like Sen. Ted Cruz. It’s also trended numerous times on social media as a tongue-in-cheek way to criticize Biden and blame him for anything that’s going wrong in the country at any given moment. According to tech site BGR, it’s now “simply being used as a replacement for the more vulgar invective directed at President Biden. Instead of dropping the f-bomb at the president like that crowd did, you can say this [phrase] instead—and people will know what you really mean.”
The fact of the matter is this and CNN, NBC, the rest of mainstream media generally and ‘reporter’ Edward-Isaac Dovere particularly need to clue in: It’s not an “inside joke” when everybody gets it including you and you’re just in denial.
