Over 100 House Republicans have just dealt a huge blow to Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) by signing on to host a fundraiser for her primary challenger Harriet Hageman.
The list of hosts includes top GOP leaders including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
“Your conference doesn’t determine whether you’re a Republican or Democrat,” McCarthy said during an interview with the Daily Caller.
“You get to determine that.
“And the way to go about it is exactly what I’m doing.
“I support Harriet in Wyoming.
“You’re going to find there’s going to be an event for Harriet next week.
“No one knows this,” the House GOP leader said.
“There’s more than 100 members that are co-sponsoring that.
“Part of the reason why Liz isn’t doing her work for Wyoming.
“She’s not on natural resources. She gave that up.
“That’s the number one committee for Wyoming, you know, and the voters get to decide whether you get to come to Congress.
“We get to decide whether you’re going to be in leadership or not.
“Liz Cheney was not doing the role as conference chair.
“That’s why she was removed.
“She doesn’t come to the conference.
“Adam’s not running again. We disagree with them.
“You want to defeat them in their election,” McCarthy added.
“Adam’s not running again.
“Liz I don’t believe is focusing on Wyoming.
“I don’t know of another leader who’s endorsed in a process like this before, and I think that’s where you solve the problem,” he said.

First House Republicans kicked Cheney out of leadership, now they’re trying to kick her out of Congress entirely. Kevin McCarthy is spearheading the Hageman fundraiser and it’s being held at the home of longtime McCarthy aide Jeff Miller https://t.co/5BZMIV4e0y

According to Politico,
“The event is slated to be held March 30 at the home of Republican fundraiser Jeff Miller, a longtime McCarthy adviser.
“The fundraiser has drawn the support of members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, which is closely aligned with Trump, but it is also being hosted by members of the moderate Governance Group and Main Street Partnership.”
