Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has issued a veiled threat to Twitter CEO Elon Musk over the platform’s new content moderation policies.
Speaking during an interview on CNN Sunday, Schiff told Jake Tapper that he sees a big problem with the “banning of journalists” and “explosion of hate speech on Twitter.”
However, both of Schiff’s claims about Twitter are false.
Twitter temporarily suspended a handful of media leftists posing as “journalists” because they violated a policy against doxxing and put Musk’s family in danger.
Their accounts were restored after just a couple of days.
So-called “hate speech” is also way down since Musk took over, despite Schiff’s unsupported claims.
“I think we have got a big problem right now with social media companies and their failure to moderate content and the explosion of hate on Twitter, the banning of journalists on Twitter,” Schiff said.
“I don’t think these companies should enjoy an immunity from liability when they behave this way.
“We can’t tell them what to say or not say, but we — we gave them immunity.
“We said, if you will be responsible moderators of content, we will give you immunity.”

As Slay News reported earlier, Schiff was forced to delete a tweet over the weekend after he tried to attack Musk with more false claims, only for the Twitter boss to humiliate the congressmen in response.
In a now-deleted post on Twitter, Schiff blasted Musk by accusing him of “turning a blind eye to hatred and bigotry.”
He then falsely claimed that Musk is banning “journalists” who “report unfavorable news.”
“Elon Musk calls himself a free speech absolutist, to justify turning a blind eye to hatred and bigotry on Twitter,” Schiff tweeted.
“But when journalists report unfavorable news, they are banned without warning.
“The devotion to free speech is apparently not that absolute. But the hypocrisy is.”
Musk fired back and humiliated Schiff in the comments.
He reminded Schiff that he will soon lose his powerful chairmanship in the next Congress while mocking his intelligence.
“Thankfully, you lose your chairmanship very soon,” Musk replied to Schiff.
“Your brain is too small,” he added.
