Embattled Hollywood star Alec Baldwin has hit rock bottom and announced he will interview the director and accused pedophile Woody Allen.
Allenโs adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, alleged the fallen star sexually abused her as a child.
Despite the nature of the allegations against Allen, Baldwin said he โCOULD NOT CARE LESS.โ
โLet me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyoneโs judgments and sanctimonious posts here,โ Baldwin said in a statement about the interview, that will be streamed on Instagram Tuesday.
โI am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone elseโs speculation.
โIf you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, thatโs your issue.
โI love you, Woody. Instagram, Iโm with Woody,
โTuesday, 10:30. Be there.โ
According to Variety:
โโAllen v. Farrowโ included a never-before-seen home video of 7-year-old Farrow talking about the alleged assault shortly after she claims it occurred.
โDuring the #MeToo movement, his 2019 film โA Rainy Day in New Yorkโ was dropped by Amazon Studios and Hachette Book Group refused to publish his memoir.
โAllen denies the allegations, and called them โuntrue and disgracefulโ in a statement following the release of the docuseries.โ
According to Fox News:
Baldwinโs dismissal seemingly referenced the HBO documentary titled โAllen v. Farrow.โ
The HBO work is a four-part docu-series that featured home movies, court documents, police evidence and never-before-heard audio tapes involving the allegations that Allen molested Dylan Farrow.
The special featured interviews with Farrow, as well as Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow, family friend Carly Simon and prosecutor Frank Maco.
Other relatives, investigators, experts, and eyewitnesses have also shared their personal accounts.
In 2014, Farrow claimed in a New York Times open letter that Allen molested her as a child.
The allegations were first reported during his split from Mia, with whom he shares sons Moses and Ronan.
From EW:
Baldwin appeared in three of Allenโs films: Alice (1990), To Rome With Love (2012), and Blue Jasmine (2013).
Heโs not the first celebrity to stand by Allen in the wake of the resurfaced allegations, though this is one of the biggest public pushes for the filmmaker in recent years.
Meanwhile, Baldwin and some of his colleagues on the Western film Rust are being sued for wrongful death by the family of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who was fatally shot on the movieโs set last October.
