AOC Tests Positive for Covid after Partying Mask-Free in Miami

Celebrity Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has tested positive for Covid after she was spotted multiple times partying mask-free in Miami, Florida.

The congresswoman’s office issued a statement that said:

“Representative Ocasio-Cortez has received a positive test result for COVID-19.

“She is experiencing symptoms and recovering at home.

“The Congresswoman received her booster shot this fall, and encourages everyone to get their booster and follow all CDC guidance.”

AOC was pounded by her critics over the news, however.

“AOC’s behavior is not hypocrisy — it is hierarchy,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s Press Secretary Christina Pushaw said.

“By openly flouting the same rules that she pushes on her constituents, she is signaling that she is powerful and does not have to abide by the same restrictions as the peasants.”

AOC added a link to some COVID guidance in her announcement but oddly it reinforced the Biden-Harris administration’s failure testing.

Her guidance said:

The Omicron variant has led to new challenges and new public health guidance.

To help navigate it all, we’ve included information below on vaccines, testing sites, and what to do if you test positive or were exposed to the virus.

I Can’t Get a Test

The shortage is beyond frustrating and we are working with our federal and local partners to get testing sites to areas where they currently don’t exist and to try to increase the overall supply.

In the meantime, there are several free testing sites open to all New Yorkers. Click here for a schedule of mobile testing locations throughout NYC that offer both rapid tests and antibody tests at no cost.

At-home testing for COVID-19 is also available to all immunocompromised New Yorkers and those ages 65 and older.

We recommend calling these testing sites before you go, as some may charge for testing or require appointments.

If long lines are stopping you from getting a test, check out the COVID 19 Wait Times Dashboard, which displays estimated wait times for NYC COVID-19 testing locations. This wait time information is updated every two hours.
