Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has vowed to impeach Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and said she will file the papers herself if no one else will.
AOC was reacting to a new article about Clarence Thomas hanging out with billionaires.
The report, in left-wing propaganda outlet ProPublica, accuses Thomas of corruption for spending time with wealthy elites.
“I think this is an emergency,” AOC said in response to the article.
“I think that this is a crisis.
“I think we’ve had a crisis for some time on the Supreme Court.
“This is beyond party or partisanship.
“This degree of corruption is shocking – almost cartoonish.
“Thomas must be impeached.
“Barring some dramatic change, this is what the Roberts court will be known for: Rank corruption, erosion of democracy, and the stripping of human rights.
“If we decide strategically that the actual author of those articles and who introduces them may not be me.
“That’s fine. I will support impeachment.
“But I just think that if no one’s going to introduce it, I would certainly be open to doing so.”
Thomas responded to the report and shut down the allegations, saying:
“Harlan and Kathy Crow are among our dearest friends, and we have been friends for over twenty-five years.
“As friends do, we have joined them on a number of family trips during the more than quarter century we have known them.
“Early in my tenure at the Court, I sought guidance from my colleagues and others in the judiciary, and was advised that this sort of personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable.
“I have endeavored to follow that counsel throughout my tenure, and have always sought to comply with the disclosure guidelines.
“These guidelines are now being changed, as the committee of the Judicial Conference responsible for financial disclosure for the entire federal judiciary just this past month announced new guidance.
“And, it is, of course, my intent to follow this guidance in the future.”

According to Mediaite:
“According to ProPublica’s reporting, Thomas and his wife enjoyed luxurious vacations and other handouts from Harlan Crow, a billionaire real estate developer.
“Crow told ProPublica he was friendly with Thomas, but insisted he never tried to influence the judge.”
ProPublica didn’t provide any evidence of any wrongdoing and based the allegations on photos of Thomas pictured with the men.
