Arab-American Democrat Mayor of Muslim-Majority Michigan City Endorses Trump

President Donald Trump has just received perhaps the most surprising endorsement of this election cycle so far.

Over the weekend, Trump traveled to the crucial, must-win swing state of Michigan.

During the visit, Trump held an interesting meeting with Arab-American Democrat Mayor Amer Ghalib.

After speaking with Ghalib, the mayor of the Detroit-area suburb Hamtramck, Trump said the meeting was “very productive.”

Ghalib happens to be one of the leaders of the “uncommitted” movement.

The movement is comprised of Muslim and Arab-American Democrat voters.

Members of the group protested President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris in the Democrat primaries over their stance on backing Israel as they continue to counterattack Hamas in the Gaza region.

The movement has garnered great influence, with reports that the numbers are roughly 100,000 in strength, particularly in states such as Michigan with large Muslim and Arabic communities.

The impact of “uncommitted” voters is more than enough to sway a close election in the state.

Ghalib, during a recent interview with Breitbart, noted that his meeting with Trump was “very productive.”

Breitbart noted:

Ghalib said his meeting with Trump materialized in part because many in Hamtramck and these neighboring communities are supportive of him and “the shifting dynamics” he is leading.

“That was the base for my communication with the Republican leadership, which resulted in a meeting with President Trump last week in Flint,” the Michigan mayor said.

“It was a very productive meeting for about 20 minutes.”

Lebanese businessman Massad Boulos, who happens to be Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, accompanied the 45th president at the meeting with Ghalib.

In a shocking, late-breaking weekend update, Ghalib announced in a statement that he has decided to endorse Trump in the 2024 election, sending shockwaves through the Democratic Party.

Mayor Ghalib announced his endorsement of Trump in a Facebook post on Sunday.

While admitting he and Trump didn’t “agree on everything,” Ghalib said he regarded the 45th president as “a man of principles.”

“Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time,” Ghalib wrote in Arabic on his Facebook page.

“I’ll not regret my decision no matter what the outcome would be, and I’m ready to face the consequences.

“For this, and for many other reasons, I announce my support and endorsement for the former, and hopefully, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump.”

“Now, let the Caravan begin its journey,” he added.

“This is just the starting point.”

Trump reposted Ghalib’s message on his Truth Social account.

The endorsement, which came as a total surprise to most, was described as a critical blow to Democrat nominee Kamala Harris’s campaign.

Harris desperately needs to win Michigan in November.

“Kamala is gonna have a hard time with the Muslim vote,” one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote:

“Proof that there are common sense Democrats out there that do not want to see their country destroyed by their corrupt and inept party.

“Country over party! Thank you!”

If even a fraction of the uncommitted voters follow Ghalib’s lead, Trump will undoubtedly secure the state of Michigan, and likely the election.
